Empire strikes back
ok...so how many years does geno get then ? how many years/starts/reps does he need to prove/disprove something ?again.. you're making up arguments.
i never said NOT to commit to geno.
i said drafting a qb in the second round doesn't automatically commit the team to years of developing him.
those are all different situations altogether. eagles and pats clearly had better qbs behind them. panthers decided to grab a physical specimen in cam.the eagles weren't committed to kolb. they're not committed to foles. the pats aren't committed to mallett. the panthers weren't committed to clausen. etc.
first, get chemistry in order. rex seems to split this team up. you NEED a glue coach, and at this point rex might be a lame duck.what do the jets need to do before drafting a qb?
second, you need to build the front 7. that defense is pathetic. get some receivers. the only rookie qb able to do anything without a good WRs lately was RGIII. a #1 WR goes a long way to establishing confidence.
you need to get a top 10 defense, especially run defense and pass rush established. secondary isnt as important, because nowadays it feeds off the front 7, and can be addressed after.
your oline is actually fine more or less in talent, its just I think they gave up. that goes back to the first point about chemistry and locker room unity.
oh and get rid of tebow for fukks sake

by the way, maybe youre not getting my point. I have nothing against the jets drafting geno in this draft, at that slot hes a good pick up even though Im not a believer. he shouldnt start yet until this team stops being a dysfunctional place.

Like there is no such thing as draft busts. How about hoping some one gets better.
why are you surprised ? you do understand your opinion of him is clearly much higher than of most people ? you could be right for all we know, but is it really that surprising ?
