Yeah players that are horribly inaccurate in college don't magically become accurate in the pros. It doesn't happen. Does Allen have good raw tools? Sure I suppose. However, the Jets are the worst team to draft and develop him

Exactly, and on the flipside Mayfield, Darnold, and to some degree Rosen are all naturally accurate (Rosen was hurt by garbage receivers if anyone was). 56% comp in the Mountain West is AWFUL, if Allen was an nfl caliber prospect he should have dominated his competition.

Plus he can’t scramble and create plays with his legs like Tyrod and Vick. He’s not going to sit on the bench for 3 years like Tyrod either. NY will eat him alive. I just don’t see the upside him, he’s no Wentz. Hell Jamarcus was more accurate in college then this cac.

This is the worst reasoning

They also havent picked a good qb in 20 years
Therefore, you cannot trust management on this franchise. They almost need to have the pick be made for them (thus our insistence that they tank). If they were to be trusted, then they’d have faith from the fan base to pick one later in the draft, let alone at 6.

If the QB pans out, it’s worth it. If not, this team continues to suck but at least Mac and Bowles get fired. The 2nd rounders in that regard prove to be inconsequential.

I'd say they're better off surrendering that pick to the Patriots as they should have lost it two years ago for the most egregious case of tampering the NFL has seen when they tampered with Revis. First round pick to the Patriots and call it a day.:manny:.

Anyone criticizing the Jets for this trade either knows nothing about football or nothing about this franchise.

Go look up our history with 2nd round picks.

FUKK 2nd round picks...been there done that.

We need a franchise QB, or at least die trying to get one, We’ve had enough of this mediocrity bullsh*t.

AND we didn’t have to give up a 1st rounder next year?

:wow:

Nah. He's very talented. Just played on a wack team.

Put him at Oklahoma and they easily win the national title.

My top 4 QBs are:

1. Josh Allen
2. Sam Darnold
3. Josh Rosen
4. Lamar Jackson

All 4 are franchise QBs. Baker Mayfield is the bust.

Smh.

Yall nikkas know nothing if you think Baker Mayfield is a legitimate NFL QB.

Lamar Jackson is a million times better.

Allen is innacurate. His receivers didn’t drop passes. He’s a white Jamarcus Russell. Never seen a qb who threw below 60 percent in college who was successful in the NFL if his name ain’t Mike Vick or Tyrod Taylor

Matt Stafford is his immediate comparable. He was below 60 percent except for his last year and has some sub 60 percent years while with the Lions. Allen can survive but he needs playmakers at WR and RB.

Even if Mac and Bowles get fired (which they do need to) still need to get talent in the building. Why I wasn't happy giving up both 2s this year. But it make a little more sense if Buffalo was also in negotiations for 3.

Agreed on Mayfield.

I have the top QBs like this:

1. Rosen
2. Jackson
3. Allen
4. Darnold
5. Mayfield

Rosen is the only QB in the draft who I'm certain can start from Day 1 and won't be a bust.

Jackson and Allen have the highest ceilings. I think Jackson has a higher ceiling as an all-around QB and playmaker and the most room to grow out of all the QBs and Allen good athlete, elite arm talent and will probably be better with better talent around him but has more bust potential.

Darnold is talented but I'm really unsure if his mental game is that great. He'll be solid but I'm not sure if he's gonna be anything more than that.

Mayfield. His best attribute (throwing on the run) is going and Im not sure if hes a good enough athlete to compensate. He's got the worst arm of the 5 and his accuracy is overrated. He's great outside the pocket, very meh inside.

Go look up Brett Favre's numbers in college. They were ugly. Matt Ryan and Matt Stafford's college numbers weren't great either and both have become decent NFL QBs.

I watch film. Fukk looking at stats. And based on the FILM, Josh Allen is a stud.

He's a Dan Marino type passer with athleticism. Put him with a good offensive coordinator and he can be Carson Wentz 2.0.
