You'd be amazed at the amount of people who think the holocaust was far more disastrous. Fact of the matter is folk just don't give a shyt about black folk and feel we have not worked hard enough to change our situation. You hear it all the time.
The holocaust was terrible.....as was slavery. Jews got paid and able to prosper. Blacks were not and left for dead.

To be honest, Just based barbershop talk and real life discussions I have had it seems like the majority of black folk are against reparation actually. That's the real problem preventing reparations from happening. A lot of black folks are scared to death of upsetting white folks dont wanna push this issue. Gonna take an overwhelming level of support to make it a reality. Like 90% of black folks on the same page. Right now its 50 percent at best.

Folks really missing the boat when it comes to reparations.
Why there is so much push back is because a people (who make a large segnent of the population 40 mill) who have been prosecuted for 500 years in the most powerful country in the world are asking for reparations.
If black folks get reparations here in america (the most powerful country known to man) it changes the entire game around the world.
That means pressure will be put on the British to pay up to jamaica, same with France paying up to Haiti, same with spain to latin countries, the US and europe to countries in Africa, the US and Europe to countries in the middle east.
Latin countries will eventually have to pay up to descendants of African slaves there. Pressure will be put on the middle east countries to pay up to descendants of African slaves there and on and on and on.
The jewish folks are scared cause that will mean eventually they will have to pay up to Palestinians and possibly to some of their arab neighbors.
On a global scale to the powers that be reparations is a pandora's box. That is why the push back is so hard here in the states. Yes america has given reparations before but never to a group this large and to a tally of this many years of persecution.
That is why this will be a long fight.
