Never been a fan of that, you don't put the switch into the off position and there is always that chance is gets stuck there.
Tony Dungy helping coaches get hired out chea but let's be real. He took a team to the SB, won one as an OC. If a White coach had this, he's the hottest on the market.

Most of us in this thread that are Lions fans are black. I'm probably the most pessimistic Lions fan on this board but man, this is a bad hire. Look at his record at Wake Forest, the Raven's offense suffered this past season. Flacco threw more picks than TDs this season. The way this team is constructed is all wrong, down to the salary issues. That ball and chain known at Stafford's salary is omnipresent. Look at what Tom Brady does every year with unknown receivers, we have a much better WR corp. Point is, we just might not be as good as the people singing our praises. How can we go from the best destination for coaches to Gomer Pyle being our pick? The Lions might have a perception problem, a lot of people didn't like how Stafford was involved in the selection process, another note, no one that has ever been Lions HC has ever gone on to receive another head coaching job. Just chew on that one for a while. Lions HC position is the graveyard shift and Caldwell knows it. This is his last chance. He was going to be let go as Raven's OC but lucks up into an HC position? Wow, fukking wow.

Probably using the Lions as leverage. There is a win now situation in Detroit. Ken probably didn't want that pressure. For all of the coaches and the teams this offseason, it was always said that the Lions wanted Whisenhunt. He slowed played the Lions like a poker game and probably got more money in the long run with more security.
