I love how in this election and this primary only, authenticity doesnt matter. Record doesnt matter. We take policy proposal at face value now. it is older black voters for the most part. because older black voters vote in primaries more so than younger black voters.
its not the messaging. its older black voters only getting their information from MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS. basic mainstream media outlets. Thats it. if thats who you are listening to all day, when bernie is talked about, its 99.9% negative. you can't get an in with a crowd thats hooked to the system like that. There were black people talking reckless about voting for hilary over a blackman(half black) in obama when they were running all due to those same media outlets telling them to vote for hillary instead of him. It's not just older black folks. It's black voters in general.

I don't know if it's the platform, the messaging, or the messenger, but these are abysmal numbers.

Bernie at least in Texas won with young black voters.



The reason why he loses Texas 58-15 is that these young voters are significantly outnumbered. You can't really argue that it's the same regardless if we're talking about old/young black voters. The younger a black person is, the more likely they are to be a Sanders supporter...but the more likely they are to not vote.

Texas actually ended up skewing in the wrong direction. Old people 65+ represented 24% of the vote when they are only 12% of the Texas population. That means set has 2x the voting power. We know black voters 65+ don't fukk with Bernie.

the answer is no he can't turn out more young voters in a primary. aint going to happen. young voters dont show up to primaries like that. every election that goes by young voters stop voting more and more. there are outlier years and if they see someone they visually identify with a young guy or younger guy than usual(obama). they may show up for that. but only in a general election can you find out if young people will come out.

Here's the reality. Bernie needs new people to come out because the old dems are brainwashed. but in a general election, he only needs a few thousand more college kids to come out in every purple state in the mid west. if he does that. he wins the entire thing vs trump. even if he doesnt get all the kids to come out, he only needs a few more independents to come out that stayed home last time, to show up and he wins these mid west purple states. last but not least, if all the bernie people that said Hell no to hillary show up he could win the purple states in the midwest which would again give him more than enough electoral college votes.

he doesnt have to worry about blue states. those will remain blue. he probably wont steal any red ones either. so its all about the purples. we know florida is a lost cause. so it has to be those mid west states that were purple. there's a reason why he polled better than HIllary in those mid west purple states vs trump and even though she had all those dem votes in some of those states. it means nothing come the general. they dont just poll dems when they ask who will beat trump in those states. they ask everyone.
