Somehow I never had this happen and I was visiting family in Harlem and South Bronx projects all the time in the 80's. Luck was on my side:wow:

I ain't go in the building if people were posted up outside. I'd go grab something to eat and come back when they left:pachaha:

This shyt had me :russ: All true, I know all too well :wow:

Proud of the fact that I got chased out of almost every projects in NY through out my teenage years messing with them birds. Always had the Roscoe on me tho :youngsabo:

Sounds a whole lot like London. Growing up in new cross, even going to other parts of lewisham was blasphemy, and I went school way out of the borough, so I was going through different estates all the time. Black/Red/Blue flags everywhere I looked, and I'm some feeble kid :sadcam::damn:

Btw, to the NY'rs? do they ask you the question of "What projects you from?" down there too?

Nah lad. They ask who you there to see. Or why are you there. They could care less where you from.

And you better roll around with someone from that hood. Or you will get pressed. They will disrespect you.

this shyt is funny. Harlem's calmed down quite a bit, no?

I was in Harlem 2010 or 2011. I can't remember exactly when. Like summertime. I stayed at a hostel out there for some days.

I would walk wherever. I eventually ended up in some hood but honestly... I got treated really well. "Oh you from Canada? Let me show you how we livin." I was talking to cats playing dice, drinking and just fukkin around. Never once feared for my safety. Dude asked for my number so he could holla at me if and when he comes up for Caribana.

In hindsight, I wouldn't just walk anywhere solo like that.

When I was growing up, Nah, nikka ain't really ask you where you from, because nikkas knew you weren't from there and that's all that mattered. Only time you really got a pass is if you knew someone from that projects.

My friend told me about a time a nikka not from his projects, pressed him in his own projects, because the dude had just came home from jail and my friend didn't live there at the time. shyt had me crying.

I hated Linden Projects in East NY because the elevator never worked, and my friend lived on the 11th floor. :snoop:. Stepping in piss with fresh Jays on is a no go my guy.

No biting. But Yo verbatim what I wrote and I didn’t even read what you wrote. I just skimmed through the thread.

Went to drop a bytch home in the bronx, a 2 min walk from my car to her project entrance...there were like 20 papis chilling and as soon they seen me shyt got tense...

Waljed the bytch to the door, smacked her ass and told her id see her later....inside my head, i was ready to have these clowns start some shyt

I was rocking a hoody and as i walked out i kept my left hand inside the left hoody pocket as if i was holding...looked at them nodded and seen them wolves salivating lol...walked with a bop to my car and ckosely listening if they walking behind me...

Got in my whip and was back to the galaxy of queens in between crime scene serving fans like feigns

I miss that bytch

I think most nikkas who grew up in Brooklyn, East New York, Newark, Camden, parts of Queens, Bronx, etc in the late 80s, early 90s are lucky.

I got robbed and got my ass whooped plenty of times :wow:
Made a wrong turn off Linden and ended up in Pink jects:snoop:

I didn’t know projects still existed til I started going to nyc

Went and visited my cousin in some jects in Queens? Think it was called ravenswood or some shyt

When I was like 12 my cousin in the Bronx tried to hook me up with my first girlfriend. Half black and Puerto Rican with long wavy hair :noah: . I had a crush on her and she was digging me. He was telling me how it worked out perfectly because she lived around my way. Then he told me she lived in Marble Hill PJ's. I have a no project chick policy. I was too skinny to be taking those risks. I still walk past her building and wonder where she is right now:mjcry:

Facts.
