nikkas just got ready to come at you :russ: Elephant and castle is every bit like that. The elevator never worked, and my bro lived on the fourth floor. The one time it did work? it got stuck. For five hours. :gucci:

Elephant and Castle is my woat part of London.

I call it Gotham because everytime I’ve been there it’s been dark and rainy, even in the summer.

I got nothing but respect for all my older nikkas who had to navigate NY and London in the 80s/90s/00s.

shyt seemed like straight hell on Earth, even if you ain’t a hood dude.
All of my mums friends kids have been stabbed and none of them are hood dudes.

I know for a fact I would have been utter food on my school route:sadcam:

I’m lucky most hood dudes seem to be either scamming or harming eachother now.

The funny thing about this thread is you realize quick that nobody ever had some universal pass in the streets. Rappers especially. You might be ok in the projects you grew up and maybe some your friends be at but that’s about it. Step in the wrong area and you food, plain and simple.

Sound like gentrification was the best thing to happen to you nikkas :picard:

I remember coming home from college and going to visit my grandmother on Lenox Ave. I passed by the bodega across the street from her building (mind you this is summer time so there's a dozen dudes posted up in front of it) and this white lady calmly walks by with a kid in a stroller and another holding her hand. She walked into the bodega and I was the only one who seemed to notice how weird it was. I never saw a white person in Harlem who wasn't NYPD. Everytime I would go back there'd be a bistro or condos under construction right across the street from her projects. That same lot was vacant for two decades.

Harlem changed a lot from the eighties. I would walk down Lenox from 125-115th and it crack houses and 4-5 crack heads on every block. Empty vials lettering the street.

Jones is hilarious. That part about chicks in the projects if fact

When you a kid growing up in NY, in the 90s, going to another projects was scary. bytches talking about come upstairs and there’s like mad gangmembers by the door, all staring at you like “The fukk is this nikka” and you gotta act like you not about to shyt your pants. I’d rather go to Iraq than visit my pops at work, right across the street from Walt Whitman projects.

Y'all follow that ItsBigSade chick on IG that Joe Budden be talking about? She was on IG live telling a story about almost dying going to a rival Blood hood (She's a Crip) for sex. That shyt was actually hilarious. It's a different way of life out in LA, but the same concept going to different hoods.
