When I was growing up, Nah, nikka ain't really ask you where you from, because nikkas knew you weren't from there and that's all that mattered. Only time you really got a pass is if you knew someone from that projects.
My friend told me about a time a nikka not from his projects, pressed him in his own projects, because the dude had just came home from jail and my friend didn't live there at the time. shyt had me crying.
I hated Linden Projects in East NY because the elevator never worked, and my friend lived on the 11th floor.. Stepping in piss with fresh Jays on is a no go my guy.
Elephant and castle is every bit like that. The elevator never worked, and my bro lived on the fourth floor. The one time it did work? it got stuck. For five hours.

Even the females, he told this story about how he went to Red Hook with his girl and he stepped away from her for a minute and when he came back a bunch of Red Hook girls were about to jump her

Jones is hilarious. That part about chicks in the projects if fact
When you a kid growing up in NY, in the 90s, going to another projects was scary. bytches talking about come upstairs and there’s like mad gangmembers by the door, all staring at you like “The fukk is this nikka” and you gotta act like you not about to shyt your pants. I’d rather go to Iraq than visit my pops at work, right across the street from Walt Whitman projects.
You from Yonkers or up state?Nah but forreal. my hood was peace almost like a ghetto heaven, in that we had no guns just us smoking, selling weed. No fukking crack just apartments and little as town houses. smoking weed on top of roof tops running wild in the street playing b-ball in the courts. That's it.
this was in the 2000s though. Things in the hood certainly got better in NYC after the 90s, as a 90s baby that grew up in NYC I can't relate to most of these stories

My G, London's BEEN like that.Sounds a whole lot like London. Growing up in new cross, even going to other parts of lewisham was blasphemy, and I went school way out of the borough, so I was going through different estates all the time. Black/Red/Blue flags everywhere I looked, and I'm some feeble kid
Btw, to the NY'rs? do they ask you the question of "What projects you from?" down there too?
