At the end of the third quarter of Thursday night’s Packers rout of the Vikings, Jim Nantz and Phil Simms were discussing Teddy Bridgewater, who looked great last week against Atlanta before he injured his ankle. Simms talked about Bridgewater’s poor Pro Day; Nantz wondered why we kept hearing all last year that Bridgewater was the presumptive top pick, and what the point was of scouting his actual games when a tryout would drop his stock so much.

Simms fell back on the “Pundits don’t really know what NFL scouts were thinking all season” line of reasoning, but Nantz didn’t really let it slide, especially since Simms had just talked about the Pro Day disaster. Simms reiterated the NFL front office stuff, but not in a way that really put a dent in Nantz’s underlying argument. For those of us who have grown exasperated with logical flaws in Simms’ commentating, Nantz’s persistence was a bit of a moral victory.

fukk PHIL SIMMS!

Demote this fakkit to regional games.

His :cape: for Ponder and his general GARBAGE announcing can :camby:

It amazes me that professional front offices, guys who supposedly eat sleep and breathe the sport can be so easily swayed by the combine and pro day and literally throw out all reason and game footage of said players.

Sometimes its like these dudes get their info from espn analysts.

this the shyt that really has me :mindblown:

getting into the NFL is just as much politics as getting promoted at a corporate job.. its all about who you know and whose dikk you sucking most of the time :yeshrug: Look at all the true great QBs almost none of them drafted high and if they were drafted in the 1st round they went in the later picks (Aaron Rodgers type deal).

Give a team like the Lions multiple 1st picks and theyll STILL fukk it up
