For every Jimi there are a million junkies

Drugs didn't make him talented, hard work and a natural gift did

I have not and never will try to diminish his gift or talent. I play as well and look up to him
My argument is back when everyone experimented with drugs music in general was better.
Especially hallucinogenic drugs

Don't forget Jimi also played with the Isley Bros for a quick min

You see him in the back playing for this group? Disregard the outfits :dame:

That’s why it’s hilarious when you hear people say Hendrix made cac music.

The Isleys spent the entire 70s trying to capture the guitar sound Hendrix had blessed them with a decade earlier!

Imagine if Motown had gotten its hands on Hendrix. Would have made him part of the Funk Brothers! :wow:

He left the group before they signed with Motown.

Meh Rock Music for part is hot crap. Wish more Blacks would've continued the musical traditions of the Jazz Funk/Soul.

Now thats some magical music .

Rock music (especially 1960s/1970s rock aka Classic Rock) is closer to Blues than any other popular genre, w/ Jazz being the 2nd closest

Check out Eric Gales. Might be the most underrated blues guitarist. Matter of fact dude might be the best overall guitarist in the world. He's a young prodigy that came up under SRV/Santana but had a lot set backs.
Did not realize he'd been in the game that long:leon:. Came across this on youtube:

This is the video that put me on a few years ago:
