Didn't southpark make an episode about this months ago.

This skit could of been hilarious but it wasn't really that funny. The whole watching people watching people wasn't funny but thats to be expected because not much of anything jimmey kimmel does is funny

Some of these games are pretty cinematic so its almost like watching a movie when its being played.

I watch youtube gaming because personalities can be entertaining and there might be a videogame I am interested in but won't play due to financial reasons.

Alot of gamer channels have annoying, artificial personalities and commentary, but I have a few channels where I go to watch gameplays. Right now, I don't have the time dedicated to play Until Dawn.

It would be a hassle to bring my console with me everytime I go somewhere for work so I snack up and I watch Chris Smoove play it. It's like a movie to me




Every gamer that has their face cam'd up in the corner of videos get an automatic skip

Didn't watch the skit but I understand where he's coming from. There is something really pathetic about watching other folks play games. I don't mean those that need assistance on getting past a boss, or to see a preview before purchasing either. I get that. Still, to watch hour after hour, is bizarre to me. Partly why there's so many unsociable, fat, out of shape and natural light sensitivee weirdos amongst newer generations. Have to say Kimmel's point is proved with some of the feedback. Articles defending gamers like they were under a vicious attack. Weirdo emo women writing emotional and pseudo intellectual pieces about how watching people play video games benefits society. Hilarious and bizarre at the same time.

I used to hate when I was younger and switching off trying to beat levels with friends/

I can understand watching sports because I'll never be 7'0 tall dunking on cats.

But I think you get better by actually playing the games rather than watching someone else right? So why not just keep playing to get better instead of watching other people get better?

The ferocity of some of the replies on that YouTube remind me of when Rebecca Black's Friday video dropped a few years ago. People were MAD as hell and had a real time argument going on in the comments for months


Can't see myself watching hours of it, that's just me. BUT I get the appeal to a degree (learned some of my best hiding spots for when I feel like frustrating people on call of duty) via this stuff. i've also watched part of games I was on the fence about to see if it was worth the purchase because there's few things worse than buying a game that ends up being a bust.

Maainn..it's mostly overreacting to the same hand full of games + "ironic" indie games now. I still watch sometimes though I kind of miss when there where more full on lets plays. Story driven shyt, stuff the player is passionate about.
