I had an interview for an internship last week. the white dude was the big shot and the black chick was the junior. She was choosing heavy, but I still didn't get moved to the next round of interviewing.
I'm sure the white dude picked on the site lil thing choosing up and got insecure.

The supply and demand dynamic is out of wack. There are more people looking for work than jobs available. And I'm referring to grown man/woman jobs.

Some of us are fine and even excel at "playing the game". Some of us will never quite fit in.

It's an uncomfortable fact that if you're a strong, self-aware, black man, them cacs not trying to have some "angry bro" on their squad. And fukk all that "my skills made them over look my pro-blackness" lies. At the least you went up in there and showed them you can fit into their team. You compromised your cac talk.

job interviews are emasculating for all men, especially when one of the rounds of interviews is with some fat witless HR hag. that is, if you're even lucky enough to pass the first round of "virtual interviews" IF your resume makes it through the company's overpriced corporate babysitting HR software with algorithms that scan for "metrics"

the entire job search process is demoralizing , bottom line. even for girls. my girl went through hell for 9 months doing countless interviews, webcam interviews, creating usernames and profiles on hundreds of company websites (upload your resume here! type whats on your resume line by line next!) only to get ghosted by people who think its the new normal to interview someone 2-3 times and never get back to them again... only to land a job through a hookup from a former co-worker at a new company

sorry to derail your thread...i didnt mean to minimize the bullshyt black men have to go through in the workforce. id imagine its 10x worse for a young or middle aged black man, if the whole process is demoralizing hell for everyone else.

thats the new normal though. in babylon you're grateful for the privledge of 4 jobs rolled into one , for wages that dont keep up with inflation nor the cost of living in 80% of american cities. "go into STEM" is what they said too bad everyone listened...

Most of the interviews I have gotten, I got the job. One time I was passed over for a job I thought I was perfect for. Interviewer was white. Whatever.

Its a place I frequented, so I popped in regularly. Person hired instead of me was a brotha, and between the two of us, I was the "safe" one


I don't have time to assume I am going to get a job just because I saw someone. Discrimination happens, but if 100 other people apply for the same position, and 20 of them are

black, should they assume its some shyt? I say this cause my upcoming position had so many apps the head of IT was annoyed sifting through them, and my black ass

killed it. Its not the first time I knocked out an interview. Tough luck to the brothas who didn't make it

Yup all that damn effort, they hiring for a post in my department and i be hearing the way they be talking about the candidates like they ain't even human 'lets see what this one is like' 'just reject all those that we interviewed today we got some fresh candidates'.
All that shoe shining in these interviews only to feel like a damn slave when you eventually do get hired
