The vast majority of people in the U.S currently unemployed is a direct result of Trump mishandling the pandemic. The pandemic won't go away, which leads to further shut downs and unemployment, because Trump doesn't believe in science and refused to tell his followers to wears masks. Unemployment leads to mass evictions. None of these things happen in a vacuum.

I'm consistent on the fact that these governors and congress as a whole have had the most convenient excuse and get out of jail free card in years by simply pointing the finger up instead of in the mirror. The federal government has dropped the ball all over the place, but in New Orleans who decided not to cancel Mardi Gras even when airports were closing down? In NYC, who said keep those trains running? These mass evictions are occurring because states aren't protecting renters and rolling out the red carpet for larger investment groups to clean house all at once. Worker protections are not the priority and they maybe could've been if screwing over unions and degrading protections didn't become a bipartisan stance. These things don't happen in a vacuum - the country is fukked up right now because its been a team effort. Everybody gets a trophy.

And either way - Bush didn't have to hold a straight up plague that halted the world's economy. It was sunny when he took over and he gave us the first steps towards the death of the middle class, a literal never ending war, and his VP was shooting people in the woods. Whats wild is he managed lower approval rating without the reality TV news coverage we got now which is insane if you line things up.
