I wouldn't say twice as good though, but yeah tpab is most definitely his greatest piece of work, its undeniable if you're familiar with this kind of music

its a great project, but it will never be considered as a classic because of its lack of relevancy, ya feel me?

you look at an album like tpab, it influenced art*ts like david bowie, chuck d, etc, it had songs being chanted in protests, it has the universal acclaim, it had musicians going crazy over it...

s80 didn't do all of that, I actually like s80 more than gkmc but it didn't achieved shyt compared to gkmc, ya feel me? Scarface said something interesting about it, he said gkmc is still the bar as far as new classics go

I'm just unable to process factoring things like "relevance" in discussions about quality music.

Section.80 was a phenomenal album to me and and the fact that the bandwagon wasn't attached to kdot when he released it is irrelevant to me.

s80 still gonna be his worst album objectively, too many musical mistakes.

I been saying s80 could have been as great as his other albums if it was released later in his career. fukk, I think it could have been his best album.. He had all the right ideas, he just didn't have the right persons behind him. The jazz elements on s80 are actually very "approachable" but an in-depth analysis reveals their flaws and the production as a whole isn't as diverse as we'd like to think so

Way too many songs on s80 where the producers mistakenly tried to extend normal triadic chords for no reason. Rappers & hip hop beatmakers usually don't know about this shyt so you can't blame them. Most of these shyt weren't made by musicians.
There's still one "jazzy" song on s80 that is actually extremely well produced, it's ab soul outro by Terrace Martin

in the end of the day, s80 is extrmely superficial musically, if you have a certain musical knowledge you'll quickly realize that the composition on s80 is extremely basic and flawed...almost everything is wrong with the bebop scales or Altered scales, syncopation, etc.

I am a Kendrick fan but I really struggle to find whats so good about TPAB. Its not that I think its horrible or anything but I would rather play Section 80, GKMC, KLEP, or OD instead any day. No one called Section 80 a classic and its clearly the better album to me.
