Got more plat records in one month than buddens entire career
:what: That supports Joe’s point.

This dude had the labels buying YouTube streams and putting out fake numbers. Now that his buzz is almost gone, the labels stopped putting money into his releases and it’s obvious the dude doesn’t know how to carry a song or keep his fan base interested.

It’s obvious him, Sexyy Red and a lot of these new artist are all plants

"Plat" doesn't at all mean the same thing now than in 2000 when Joe came out. This guy would NEVER sell one million copies of a project. If streaming and YouTube existed as it does now, Pump It Up wold eclipse mad careers.
This nygga needs to be in the gym, not the studio anyway

Low power level ass nygga
Which one are you talking about?:mjlol:

1. I was literally raised off gangsta rap. Knew every word to odes to homicide like Bone’s “Mo Murder” before my balls dropped lol…The violent content is the least of things that I don’t understand about YB’s music, it’s what’s MOST familiar …that’s a silly hypothetical narrative that I won’t even pretend to entertain. Musically he’s just somewhere else that I’m a generation removed from, the fact that he’s literally not making music intended for me to listen to kinda matters

2. Yeah he’s a failure because he failed to become a major label rap star after given the opportunity, and quit to gossip about successful artists instead full time
Failing upwards

Shyt like this is so easy to say 50 years later but punk was considered trash and talked about the same way self righteous cognitive dissonant nikkas talk about hip hop. That's why y'all points come off as :flabbynsick: and pretentious. Nikkas wasn't touting the political and artistic merits of punk in the 70s:mjlol: but y'all use revisionist history to bolster these baseless ass points that make you feel good about yourselves

Unless the time has passed you can't say what is or isn't a hair metal phase. The closest thing hip hop had to a hair metal phase was the mid to late 2000s snap/rockstar era because none of that shyt has stood the test of time. Invoking a current era as hair metal without the benefit of 10-30 years of assessment is disingenuous
I mean...-the mid-late 2000's ringtone rap at least produced "Wobble" which is still a staple in Black cookouts/weddings to this very day.

What songs in the last 3 years from the newer rappers have the same longevity as "Wobble?"

Say what you want about the "ringtone rap" era of 06-08.

Most of it was mid but at least it was catchy and centered around partying and dancing. "Wobble" was made by a ringtone rapper in 08 and it's still damn near a requirement to play at a Black function/cookout/wedding to this day.

Most of the newer mainstream rappers of this decade are not only mid like the ringtone rappers but they can't even make fun music or music you can dance to anymore which is a double whammy against them.

Even hip hop DJ's this decade have said outright that they can't even play most modern rap at their events anymore and they have to either resort to playing older rap hits or switch to Afrobeat/Reggaeton/EDM to resonate with the crowd.

If you're a mid rapper, you can at the very least make club bangers or turn up songs. That's what Lil Jon and Tyga did.

It’s for breath control. It’s easier to one take songs sitting down. I think DeJ Loaf was the first to do it professionally but dudes with home studios and a bootleg copy of Cool Edit Pro been doing this for decades.
Did that look like one take to you?
