H.E.R ahead of Keyshia Cole:comeon:

Top ten

10.) Marvin Gaye
9.) R Kelly
8.) Mariah Carey
7.) Prince
6.) James Brown
5.) Whitney Houston
4.) Beyoncé
3.) Michael Jackson
2.) Aretha Franklin
1.) Stevie Wonder

Top 10 damn near looks backwards for me. Donnnie Hathaway and Smokey was somewhere in the teens irrc smh. Not sure how the hell Whitney is so high. And Beyonce is damn near blashemous over half this list. How is there 40 spots between her and Aaliyah:gucci:?

Mary J needs to move down a few spots. That's my only issue with the list since Beyonce wasn't #1 like what was originally rumored :hubie:
Mary is actually too low. If we're taking impact into consideration, that woman was pivotal to the 90s. She's the foundation. #16 was too low for the impact she had.

Aaliyah should have also been higher than 40.

The criteria is based on more than just the 90s. I just can't put her over Luther.

Originally I thought that Aliyah was rated wayyy too high, but I looked at the ones behind her and couldn't find someone that I thought deserved it over her.

In the end, Billboard staffers agreed on the following criteria: vocal prowess, body of work, career longevity, industry achievements, game-changing influence and enduring generational/cultural impact.

It's not based purely on who's the best singers, so some of these make sense.

But there are 90s artists above her. Thats the point. You have an issue with her placement when she's arguably more influential to music than Usher, who's higher than her. She lowkey should be above Mariah, too.
Usher a few spots too high as well.

The fundamental problem with that list is a lot of those artist biggest hits and it's impact weren't even in the R&B space and that goes to those Motown artist on that list as well.
