Hold on all these guys are on cheap type Contracts. This is The only chance the hawks have at getting rid of Joe I think they should take it.

And then find a way to sign a sg or trade Marvin for one

This is how mediocre teams stay mediocre. L's for both teams

not really all the hawks get back is short term deals 2 years or less and a 1st all to get from under that contract and the nets keep deron happy. Win-Win.

joe johnson as third option > joe johnson as first

no shyt i think dude could be a fine second option his contract just doesn't fit his production. The Hawks should ask for Brooks in return but if push come to shove take this deal and build around Horford.

But them getting Joe would fukk up there chances of getting coward. I take back the L's for both teams.. Its a win for the hawks they get rid of WOAT contract (after Rashard Lewis of course). But I would think they would not have enough cap space for all 3.

Not necessarily they would then offer Wallace Brooks and Lopez for Howard in a S+T.

Damn, if the nets pull this shyt off... Sad east teams. Your bulls gotta make a move.

with rose down we stuck in purgatory with a cheap ass owner which is understandable given the circumstances but still we need 1 more guy and they just dont know how to get him ironically enough Howard bytchass is the answer but we all know that aint happening.

http://www.netsdaily.com/2012/7/2/3132537/nets-trade-for-joe-johnson-keep-green-brooks-draft-pick

The Nets have all but completed a trade for Joe Johnson, the six-time all-star, league sources tell NetsDaily. In return, the Hawks get expiring contracts and a first round pick. NOT included in the trade: MarShon Brooks and Gerald Green. The Nets also didn't have to give up their own first round pick in the trade. The trade will not be finalized until July 11.

Johnson, who is still owed $89.3 million over the next three years, was dealt for Anthony Morrow; Jordan Farmar, who will be bought out at Atlanta's expense; Jordan Williams, Johan Petro, a signed-and-traded DeShawn Stevenson and the Rockets 2013 lottery protected first round pick.

As a result of the trade, the Nets are now eligible for the full $5 million mid-level exception (which they reportedly will use to sign Bosnian forward Mirza Teletovic) and the $1.95 million bi-annual exception. They also retain two trade exceptions worth $3.0 million and $1.30 million, acquired in the Gerald Wallace trade; $3.0 million in cash considerations; Kris Humphries Bird Rights; all their own first rounders from 2013 through 2018 and the draft rights to two top European players, Bojan Bogdanovic and Toko Shenghelia.
