Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo reports that the Hawks and Nets are engaged in trade talks involving guard Joe Johnson.

According to Wonjarowski, no deal is close but the two sides have discussed possibilities. The Nets are interested in pairing Johnson with point guard Deron Williams, who will be a free agent after midnight.

Johnson is one of several trade possibilities being discussed by the Hawks but no deals are imminent. The Hawks have received calls from several teams interested in forward Josh Smith but so far the asking price has been too high.

New Hawks GM Danny Ferry has focused on the trade market as he seeks to re-tool the roster.

The Hawks knew exactly what they were getting, he's been in the league for years & has been a solid but not spectacular player. Don't act like he's a bum just because the team decided to overpay.
