On top of that, I just looked at their salaries for next year. They have 4 million on the books so far because everybody else is expiring.

If Orlando doesn't trade Dwight to the Nets, and he doesn't sign long term, then the Nets can sign him next year. Am I missing something here?

Let's be clear here. Joe Johnson is still a solid player. Yal can talk all the shyt you want about this deal, but the Nets are desperate and need some star power to pair with Deron. Dwight fukked them over by opting into that contract. Point blank.

If they manage to keep Deron, the Nets roster is looking decent and will be competitive in the East.

I'm not sure how the numbers look after this year, but it's been well documented that the Russian will spend, and he'll prolly throw the luxury tax in the bushes if he has to.
