Joe Lacob admits that Warriors spending is not sitting well across the NBA

Will more teams follow the Warriors spending?

Lacob be talking like he’s one of the deep pocketed owners in the league. Ballmer worth ~50x more and wants to win…yea you got misers who don’t want to spend but let some of these owners worth $15B+ decide to play this game and it’s a wrap

Once Ballmer develops his own talent, he's gonna be a problem.

:manny: That’s how u win and u not cheating at all

Just these other owners are cheap as hell and just want the title of owner than actually putting work and money into winning championships

Your team will get more sponsorship money will be coming in , more merchandise sells and other benefits especially ticket sales

Don't hurt that the Chase Center prints money for Lacob.

Norfeast groovin…
shyt, I don’t like teams acting like cold skirts towards GOAT franchise when it comes to deals tryna throw some bullshyt tax on us like they not eating off all the money the GOAT franchise brings in every year by the year, all that money should belong to the Lakers only if they wanna act like some hatin ass bytches. :ehh:

My team has won many times in my lifetime so I could never playa hate on the Warriors doing the right thing for them and finding success from it. The league’s rules can be fukkin retarded at times. Keeping teams together should be rewarded, not penalized. All these fluke ass rules to artificially create a parity that can’t/won’t exist until the majority of NBA front offices actually become worth their weight in salt and gold are counterproductive and prolong the ability to see a better desired outcome. :ehh:

Other owners voted for this system. Non-tax paying teams receive a cut of the luxury tax paid for by the Warriors. They should shut the fukk up and stop bytching. In years past we saw really good teams have to trade players because paying them would be too much on the team, so it made sure talent was dispersed. Now we have a team paying OUT THE ASS and the other teams still benefit from it and want to bytch.

Some of these owners are fukking losers.

It doesn’t sit well because the Warriors are making these other garbage franchises look like shyt and are shining a light on them

I’ve never seen a situation like the Warriors right now.

They just won a championship and have good young players in the stash :mindblown:

Never seen anything like this shyt

fukk the league. shyt woulda never happened if the bumblefukks in OKC didn’t quibble over 5 mill with Harden. Let this be a lesson: shyt or get off the fukkin pot. If you can’t afford to pay for your homegrown talent that is chip-worthy, sell the team or make sure you stay hydrated, because that treadmill ain’t going anywhere.

isn’t the luxury tax distributed among the other teams? Lacob is a known bullshytter because I’m sure broke owners like the lakers kings wiz kings tc love getting those checks.

Lakers never get shyt, you gotta be under the cap for that.

But like others have pointed out, it'd be a good look to adjust salary tax rules for players you drafted. Like maybe you only got hit with 1/2 the tax for their salary. Could help to curb the team hopping hoeness

Unbelievable they did that looking back. Harden wasn't even getting a Max max, just a max rookie extension and they wasn't having it? :dead:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
And let’s keep it 300 only reason Lacob have no issues going into the luxo tax is because of Steph…. No owner is in league willing to dive that deep in the luxo tax… Steph is literally the system and organization…
No that's not it.. Lacob actually sold 5% of the Warriors JUST TO PAY THE TAX...

Then turned around and sold ANOTHER 6% to get even more cash

And after all that, puts all the profits back into the team

"We spend everything we make. We don't take any distribution [money]. Never taken a dollar. None of our partners have taken a dollar. We just pile it back into building an arena, which we did for five years. We were making a lot of money in Oakland the last few years. We piled it into this arena without public help. And now when we're in a stage where our players have gotten ... been with us longer and they make more money and we want to retain them, we want to continue going for championships, it's piling all that money into player salaries. And that's what we've done here last year and the last few years and we'll again do this year."

That's what other owners won't do. That's why he said light years. Because instead of saying "we don't have the money or don't want to pay that." he said "not only will I pay it, but I'll sell off the team to pay it, cause when we keep winning, it'll pay us back"

Every owner would go into the luxury tax for their star players... Other owners ain't doing selling off the team and not taking any money from it

Other owners love being cheap and having plausible deniability when it comes to not wanting to pay the tax …Lacob to his credit is blowing that stereotype on its head and other owners don’t want him to be an example that people can compare and contrast their frugality against …that’s why there “mad” I’m sure …but good for him ..fukk these penny pinching owners ..get em outta here :camby:
