Stop this nonsense. Most people watching back then couldn't even watch in real time outside of watching highlight clips. It ain't like today where Sunday Ticket is available or even Red Zone. Back then you was at the mercy of networks. And if you had a local AFC team in the East or Central time zone you were rarely seeing his games. Marino has one of the best highlight reels ever so if anything it likely lead to him being overrated in real time as most were only seeing his highlights. A lot of times it's the non-highlight places that separates the QBs.

NFL Sunday ticket been around since 1994, Sunday night football has been around from 1987. Oh and don't forget the juggernaut of Monday night football that's been around forever.

I grew up watching all of the premiere teams and qb's in the 90's. (niners, Cowboys, phins, Broncos, Packers, Steelers etc etc etc. So I honestly do not know what you are talking about. (I didn't get NFL Sunday Ticket until 2000.)

Again, if you grew up in that era you'd know this. I don't know why you think this was the stone ages and there weren't nationally televised games in the 90's.

Now if you feel Marino was overrated then that's your opinion. I watched him in real time get high praises from his peers and fans. REAL TIME.

As a Jets fan I hated him at the time but for my money still the best pure passer ever

He was putting up video game numbers when you still could play defense

I can’t even imagine the stats he’d put up in today’s game
