He's been redeeming himself. Now it's up to the players to stop playing careless basketball. A veteran Horford damn near costing them the series with that shyt. Jimmy had small chances of making three pointer the way he was shooting the ball.

He was never as bad as folks made him out to be.

He revamped their offense this season (1st in shot generation; 2nd in offense) and had them as a top-10 team in the clutch (despite having players that make bone-headed decisions down the stretch of games, whilst not having a floor general). Everyone just unnecessarily and wrongly tried to use Udoka as a reference point despite this team showing the same bad habits last season.

It's his first year as coach, all at the tender age of 34 and the man has already won five elimination games. None of the best coaches in the league had everything figured out at that age.

He was hated on because he sent out clear vibes that he doesn't care what media members at press conferences think about x's and o's. He knows that he and his staff know more about basketball than those people and media doesn't like when they are put in their place. So then they start an agenda.

I think he's done an amazing job. Even if they'd lost the series 4-1. Media only hold a lack of results against you if you don't play ball with them or if they have some other vested interest.

It was the same thing when the Rockets were putting up all those threes. Everybody talked about how it was ridiculous and basketball doesn't work that way and now everybody has adopted it and you're at a clear disadvantage if you don't do it but media won't admit they were completely wrong all those years. They'll make it about something else that was done wrong.

I'm speaking more in terms of this board.

When Udoka was fired, a lot of folks on here wanted his successor and the Celtics to fail (even some of the Boston fans on here have had this weird agenda of making him the scapegoat). When the reality is, this brotha legit knows hoops inside and out; don't be fooled by his seemingly meek demeanor. I heard him talk about his approach to coaching during preseason and it really resonated with me. He's a young breh who's not afraid to think outside the box and embraces the numbers, which a lot of older brehs on here have made it known they're opposed to.

Marinate on this - this season the Celtics were #1 in shot generation, #1 in spacing, #1 in points per halfcourt possession rate, #2 in offensive rating, were one of the best teams in transition despite being one of the worst last season (2023 - 86 percentile; 2022 - 10 percentile) and were ranked top-10 in the clutch despite being ranked 26th last season. Structurally and fundamentally they've improved leaps and bounds on that end of the floor.

Young brehs like him should be celebrated getting an opportunity so young. None of these coaches in the Association were even in the league at 34.

I was told by multiple sources that Spoelstra was the greatest coach in the history of team sports. What's going on here?

The much more talented team is showin why they was -525 favorites headin to series :yeshrug:

If we was bashing him (me included) we need that same energy now that he has flipped it. He's making adjustments, coaching on the fly and calling timeouts. Right now outcoaching the best coach in the NBA. Give that man his credit

He makin adjustments but it was the dumbass rotation that got em down in first place. White shouldve always been startin yet it took him 3 games to realize that. Startin Horford wit Rob made sense for the Embiid matchup but for some reason he stuck wit it the first 2 games against a completely different matchup wit less size and more speed.

Had Jimmy huntin mismatches easy, gettin any switch and matchup he wanted and Bam better looks wit less swarmin for more rim pressure and easier jumpers.

Miami shot better from 3 again, committed only 5 turnovers, and they undrafted players Martin, Vincent, Robinson continue to play way above their head. And they gotta execute and shoot like dat cause Boston got way more talented and better ball handlers, drivers and scorers that can get inside. Jimmy only consistent one for Heat. Boston got 5, 6 nikkas that can create a play. Its the stars cant get make they shots due to a talent deficit against a much better, deeper team. Aint no one bein outcoached if you know what you watchin and not just lookin at result :manny:

Hes not the first coach to get buns to play hard. Jim Obrien got mark blount and jr Bremer to play hard.

The heat are gassed because spo isnt playing his bench. Why didnt highsmith play? Why didnt kevin love play?

Did he coach the Heatles in 2011 when they lost to the Mavericks? Remind me

Yeah, this isn't how it played out.

Game 1 - they were dominating Miami with the two big lineup, well, that was until the 3rd quarter where Miami had an outlier of play scoring 46 points, and this was against multiple lineups that included White. Celtics won each of the other three quarters going 91-77. There's a reason why the Heat haven't even approached that kind of scoring output since.
Game 2 - Celtics once again had control of the game with a 83-75 lead heading into the 4th quarter, and they ended up losing the lead when Rob went out of the game midway through that quarter (he finished +7). They shat the bed down the stretch with Jaylen and Tatum completely losing their heads.

Your recollection of what happened during the first two games is unadulterated revisionism. Boston was actually the better team throughout those first two games, except there was one anomaly of play from Miami in Game 1 and all-time meltdown from their two stars down the stretch in Game 2.

I don't know why the fukk you're blaming the Mazzulla's rotations for what happened in those two games.

Funnily enough, when they did start White in Game 3, that's when they got completely blown off the floor and looked dead in the water. Go figure.

And I don't know why you're talking about Jimmy hunting mismatches as if he didn't put a target on White earlier in the series, that was until White stopped biting on his pumpfakes.
