so what they all should have put their money together ?

even shaq who made like 300 million in his career doesn’t have enough to buy a team

Breh thats a deceiving tweet and runs on a narrative. The reason why more players don't own teams is because the owners DON'T HAVE TO SELL THE TEAMS TO THEM. There is literally a list of things that have to go through and the owners have to approve to get a team. There have been countless examples of players putting groups together to buy teams yet the owners have refused to sell those teams to them. Remember ownership can agree to block a sell. Hell thats the reason bytch ass Cuban can't buy a MLB team.

Years ago Isiah put a team together to purchase the Raptors. But ownership refused to sell. MJ wanted to buy the bucks and they refused to sell. Bob Johnson wanted to buy a team years ago but owners refused to sell.

Which Stern later pressed the owners to give the bobcats expansion team to Bob Johnson. Even though Larry Bird's team was going to pay more. You have the former duke players brian davis and laettner getting a team together to buy the Grizzlies but deal fell through.

Hell even magic wanted to buy the lakers from Buss and he said nope, but I will give you a 5% cut of the team for all that you have done. Magic also tried to buy the sonics and pistons, but ownership would not sell.

We have examples in other sports of owners refusing to sell to black folks. Such as in the black DC bankers who wanted to buy the Washington Slurs from the cook family when the team was for sale. The black group came up with the money and the cook family all of a sudden took the team off the market.

It's easy to say what other people should do with their money when it isn't ours.

fukk outta here.

the shyt easy.
you put the shyt in a six month Cd.
at their level they can create month to month cd's that generate capital and never spend the principal.

as you do not spend the principal.

people think a payday is reoccurring.
when a payday is only that specific day and it is not reoccurring.
plus you have the capital to create your own payday from your payday.

nikkaz better start realizing why they are picked.
then go do all the discovery to ramp up and excell.
if not,...you will fail simple as that and it is only a matter of time.

nikkaz still failing at parochial vs public school semantics in basketball. When you can google the Lakers vs Celtics before the shot.
to see wtf happens and they got a well executed plan for you.

you better stop playing.

Just saying that if more pooled their money and invested, maybe more former players would own a team.

That's true and a valid perspective.

You don't have to gamble anything. There's a ton of financial products you can buy that will get you a bigger return than doing something dumb like buying a CD

Hell, you can even go underground and loan it for a much bigger return than a CD. Especially because interest rates are rock bottom you'd be a moron to buy a CD

Just saying that if more pooled their money and invested, maybe more former players would own a team.
Few people today would buy teams cause they are good investments, it’s entertainment for billionaires, nearly all of them make their money from other things.
It’s basically only people who managed to hustle away teams for cheap back in the days (like Gund got Cavs for 20m, its now 1.5 billion from estimates). Just 3-4 years ago nearly half of the teams lost money and 9 lost even after revenue sharing. So to think that 10-20 NBA players would come together with their career net earnings and invest 2 billion for a mediocre team to share profits of 10-30 million per year is unreasonable. Of course if they are as wise as Joe with their money they could, but the problem is that a financially smart person would not make that investment and a financially dumb would not save that money to be able to afford it.

So unless sports teams fall out of favor with billionaires as their little entrainment projects, I don’t see this happening. It will probably only get worse if Russians, Arab princes etc start buying team
