It's part of the contract that they signed and stipulated along with TNT. They both overpaid for the rights more than any other network was offering at the time. The players could have said no to having the All Star game if they wanted to, but didn't want to lose the revenue that came along with it.

That's on them and their NBAPA President.

So was 82 games. So was a season that started in October. So was an ASG in February. The players agreeing to it doesn't rebut anything that I have said. How have other sports managed to not have ASG that were apart of their contracts?

Yes it does rebut everything you've said because they could have easily voted no. Playing the ASG is about the money. Nothing more and everybody knows it which is why they are playing the game even as they don't want to.

Yes they did not play 82 games and they lost revenue because of it. Other sports did not play their ASG and they lost revenue because of it. Those type of things are stipulated in their contracts. Ask MLB and the NHL about whether revenue matters. Even the NFL is looking at a drop in cap space because of COVID-19.

I didn't say they couldn't though. My point is and was that it's a bad idea. Players agreeing to it doesn't change this. Is this one game gonna impact revenue that much? Is it worth the risk to your top 20 players?

Everybody is in agreement that it's a bad idea, but they don't have any other choice. They already lost billions last year and are looking at the same thing again as fans aren't in the stands at 100% capacity. Every dollar matters especially in a television contract.

If they could go without the All-Star game, then they would. Unfortunately, they can't so here are we. They could have always chose to pay the fine and sit out the game if they really wanted to. Supposedly Jimmy Butler did with no problem whatsoever.

The fact that LeBron and other players are expressing caution on the vaccine is a bit concerning. You got Kareem, Bill Russell and Coach Pop getting their shots.

Woj was saying if players get their shots, there’ll be no need to contact trace :jbhmm:
