You got biopics on nwa, wu, pac and big and... big l next ?!

In hiphop dreamland would be great but financing a project like this to make it dope would be a bit difficult

Big L doesn’t belong with the other names in stature and output that’s why funding would be difficult to obtain

:patrice:Not sure about this. Big L was cool but how would a movie about him even play out?

He wasn’t even a huge star like Pac and Biggie. He was pretty much underground throughout his entire career.

a Big L biopic is basically a Law & Order episode

I think a 'Dangerzone' series about the Lenox area of Harlem would be a more interesting way of doing it
considering so many murders are intertwined and it would give more time and weight to the characters based on real people.
:ohhh:

It’s about the magnitude of the story … it would work

It would work better though if the parent company of the film distributer had a stake in the rights to his publishing

Likely will see a Nas movie first, but the Big L story makes more sense for the big screen

I also think it would work if they made it like 8 mile.. have him do battles show his life in between them.. then at the end Show him get a record deal in the works then he dies

shyt would smoove if done right

dosn't matter. I was a huge Big L fan(yes, prior to his death) and the only hip hop biopics that people haven't trashed are those written by and starring kkkrakkers. There have only been 5 hip hop biopic films(/wutang is a series)

Roxanne - Dope netflix release that went nowhere and flew under the radar

Biggie - was trashed before release and Gravy did a great job with a dope script.

2pac - was trashed before release and Shipp did a great job. the movie DOA

NWA - about 20% factual as they deleted the existence of Arabian Prince, had Ren and Yella as cameo appearances, saying Eazy E was broke after Dre left when he was worth about $30 million at the time of his death as he, Ren, and Bone all had plaques and sold millions of records. But since it was promoted by Good Morning America, the UFC, and other white outlets due to the euo small hat screen writers, no one black said a negative thing about it.

What 50 and eminem did were not REAL biopics hahaha. The question is, how can yu work white people into Big L's story or create a "white savior"(what Jerry Heller was in SOC) to sell it to white people? Because men buy what women like and women like what white people promote to them. There was a Juice Crew film years ago about to go into production. They had actors for the roles and everything. I think Evan Ross was going to play shan, David Banner to play Biz, Talib was playing Scott La rock, Keke Palmer as roxanne. That went nowhere. No white savior to sell to white folks.
This is where they could expound and even make up a fake dude that released The Devil’s Son and also got him signed to Columbia. Can also show L in Japan and Croatia. He’s still like by Eastern Europeans
I also think it would work if they made it like 8 mile.. have him do battles show his life in between them.. then at the end Show him get a record deal in the works then he dies

Yea…they made a movie called La B about Richie Valens, a Mexican-American singer who died at 16, granted he had a national hit, but the movie could be made

Bro it's a movie. Why does he have to be a huge star for his story to be interesting :dead:
