I'm not denying any of this. All I'm saying is Abraham being an alcoholic I'm sure sped up this process. Alcohol kills the brain.
Know what else kills the brain? Running into another human being at 20mph thousands of times per year

NFL players average 55 years on this earth, there's nothing wrong there![]()

For all players who play five or more years, life expectancy is less than 60; ... statistic that the NFL suicide rate is “nearly six times the national average”

No, no. That's my SC Gamecock... leader of one of the best defenses in the nation at that time...my nigg...
hope he regains everything. NFL could really be collapsing my guys.

Seriously speaking, what would it take for you NOT to let your son play football? Like, what if they found out that playing HS football increased your chances of dementia by 200%, would that be enough?
Dont create an exaggeration for the sake of it.
As far as what would it take- I don't know I've never really thought about it. A lot of good came out of playing. DId you play?
That's not much of an exaggeration, considering the link between football and CTE
I played JV for 1 year, thought all the practicing was ass and hated how the game flowed and I was actually better at it than basketball.
I love boxing just as much as I love basketball, but there's zero chance I let my son get into it professionally.
still take his crippled ass over swoopes.
Boxing nah. Me neither. But then again I dont have kids so it's probably not a conversation I can really have at this point.
And you're right practice was awful. But I do miss playing....a lot. Once you play your last high school game the majority never puts pads on again.

I don't really see the difference between a combat sport and football, at least there's some transparency with boxing/MMA where they are like "yeah, you do this and it could fukk up your health big time" with football there's none of that and they basically disavow any links between the sport and head trauma.
Two of my friends played D1 football, one is a personal trainer (made a thread about him & the PT hustle) now and the other is a teacher, both regret it big time because of how their bodies feel and they have nothing to show for it![]()
