people tend to overlook the fact that experience usually wins in the end of this tournament.

shoot, the 2012 team that won it all was prolly calipari's most experienced squad at Kentucky - in terms of key players.

and notice, his teams always get knocked out by vet squads that have nba talent.

he does a better job with one-and-dones than anybody else. from coach k to bill self.

DO REMEMBER:
no school has won more than 1 chip since the one-and-done rule. altho, UNC may do it next week.

We lost games because guys couldn't make free throws, the WVU game in the elite 8 a few years ago immediately comes to mind. He's a great recruiter but he's coasting off of the talent he recruits. If we had tom izzo coaching these teams, we would have 4 rings atleast. how you got 4 mcdonalds all americans and can't even reach the final 4? :russ:

Charlotte - Washington D.C.
Got his coaching start under Ted Owens and Larry Brown at KU, that greatness rubbed off

Yeah. Ive never before seen a coach get so much acclaim for meeting expectations.

I mean its been fun to watch Kentucky gel as a team but damn... 8 fukking mcdonalds all americans :rudy:

Hmmm.....K has Tatum, Bolden, Frank, Jeter, Grayson, Luke, Amil, and Matt Jones....plus Giles who would've been one without the injury. And they got bounced on the first weekend.

why do people act like all these Kentucky teams are juggernauts? half the teams weren't ALL THAT on paper, once you factor in their lack of experience.

duke & Kansas are easily the biggest chokers.

this current team had a shot, since the title picture was so wide-open this year, but so did 9 other teams. Carolina being one of them. UCLA being another. I wouldn't have batted an eye if Kentucky didn't get past them, or even Wichita.......and with that said, they always give Kentucky the worse draws out of all the blue blood schools.

Florida, Uconn, and dook have all won multiple titles since the one and done rule.

nah. florida 1st title was the year before the one-and-done.

youre right about duke & UConn.

UConn gets brushed under the rug so badly.
I even have kevin Ollie in my avi. SMH.

First Florida title was in '06, the first year of the one and done rule. UNC was the last team to win it without the rule in place.

:usure: UNC caught the same bracket and had to play UK in essentially a home game as the #1 seed. UNC got the short end of the stick this year.

its his fault he always has freshman. for every Tyler Ulis he recruits 10 1 and done's, so why should i care about his young team? it'll be young again next year because he recruited 3 1 and done's to carry this team

now, until the NCAA gets its policies right i wont hold the fact he does that against him, hes just using the system presented to him, but i sure as hell wont offer it as an excuse. he could go get 5 4* grinders and build a team but he doesnt want to do that

Bingo. Get yourself a (few) 3* gritty player(s) to offset all the one and dones but that would make too much sense.

No fukking respect. Kemba-led squad won 5 straight BE games ( The Real Big East) to win the tourney. That was a record that will never be broken again. Every game in the NCAA tourney, these "experts" had them losing, including the first round. These dudes once again win 6 straight games for their 3rd ring. That's 11 straight games.

Amazing right? Well Kemba is gone, they are in this horrible conference called the AAC, legend Calhoun retired, APR ban for a rule they just created, this program is finished. Tourney starts, they beat St. Joes, who was favored over them, Nova, who was favored over them, Iowa State with no Georges Niang, yet still favored over them, Michigan State, who was favored and picked to win it all, Florida, who was #1 overall seed and picked to win it all, and Kentucky, who actually struggled but got hot at the right time, picked over them. 4th title in 15/16 years.

All of this happened and they still get zero respect. You do have media guys who give them props like Cowherd, Kenny Smith, Jay Will, Bilas, Jalen, etc but they always be the underdog. What's worse is they are actually struggling in the AAC, so the ones who were constantly disrespecting them, now have the ammo to do so.

wasn't '07 the first year?

Durant, oden, etc

'07 was the first freshman class, your right. The rule started in the '06 draft or else Durant could've went in that draft.

So yeah you were right the '06 Florida title wouldn't count towards that. My fault.
