The praise of John Mayer lets me know how hypocritical The Booth can be. Every other artist on here who said what John Mayer said would've been hit with a :camby:, "never forget what John Mayer said in Playboy", "cancel that CAC", and "anybody that supports him is a CAC or c00n".

I definitely don't support what Kanye said about slavery nor do I agree with his support of Trump, but people are calling for The Coli to dismiss Kanye, but the majority of this thread is praising John Mayer. Not only that, but the same thing happens with Justin Timberlake (still think him throwing Janet under the bus lacked backbone and he definitely should've owned what he did), when Mayer outright said he was a vulture and made a blatant racist joke. I've seen posters label Bruno Mars a vulture as well.

Typical of The Booth though, Mayer isn't exactly as huge and he doesn't get as much attention, so his blatant racism and vulturing is swept under the rug. Nah, if we're being consistent, John Mayer deserves to be cancelled, possibly far more than JT. Mayer is out here maling David Duke jokes about his penis like its cool and then saying he got the "nikka pass".

Just because you can play a guitar doesn’t mean that you’re a good at making music. Macklemore can play with words and flow to beats, but the music is still not good.

They still have the same type of stans as someone listens to hiphop, rock (pop rock, blues rock, or whateber type prefix you wanna throw in) and folk equally. The only time I hear people mention him is when it’s people who are barely casual listeners. Like modern Eminem fans, go to his YouTube and you’ll see millions calling his new shyt goat and that no one else is nice in hiphop :mjlol:

I’m obviously exaggerating a bit, but he’s the true definition of average. He’s not among the weakest and he’s never been mentioned in the top or any year end lists. Except Grammy’s and Billboard and other pop-things like probably MTV just like Macklemore.

And who the fukk are you on the authority of dictating what's good or bad rock Music? You think you're the only bruh on here who listens to the genre? :mjlol: fukk outta here bruh. Never forget, rock was OUR shyt first. And it's plenty of bruhs on here still listening to rock. shyt, it's mostly underground/indie shyt poppin and rock is alive and well.

Comparing John Mayer to Caclemore is just disrespectful as fukk. What you're saying is true about John, a lot of critics branded his music as cheesy and corny during his Room for Squares / Heavier Things days because he was making POP rock and it wasn't that good. He had hits but he was a heartthrob and got marketed into that by Columbia but by Continuum, John proved that he could craft a very well rounded record and made some really good songs (Stop this Train, Gravity, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, In Repair). The album is still one of the better Pop/Rock albums to hit the mainstream in the last two decades. Since then, his albums haven't really been that good and he mostly eats off the fans he built from day one as the heart throb but if we being real, MOST acts that have been around almost 20 years are eating mostly off day one fans. I don't see anyone in here branding John as some GOAT in any faucet but there is absolutely no doubt that he is one of the greatest guitar players of the past 20 years. The man can absolutely SHRED and anyone who knows anything about music will tell you that. He may not be making the best music now but to compare him to Cacelmore is downright disrespect and just wrong. John is a much better musician than that.

His reviews are straight average, all of them on the same level as Macklemores. I listened to John Mayer when I first got into rock as a kid, it's an easy way in for a kid or anyone who doesn't know anything. Other than that, you're allowed to love him. People that sell millions do it for a reason. And I do not listen to commercial rock, it's been garbage since the the 70s minus the britpop era. Obviously a lot of brehs listen to rock, I'm talking about the John Mayer stans whose second rock reference is Coldplay and after that Redhot Chilli Peppers. He's a good, soft and easy way in for beginners. Like a Macklemore might've made little Jimmy in Arkansas interested in hiphop.

And I don't care about what one could do, didn't do or will do, I care about what one did.

You listened to him when he was making music specifically for teenagers and kids (Room for Squares/Heavier Things) lol great, no one said those are classics and you keep talking about critics/reviews and their view of John but if you've listened to enough rock music across all genres and listened to his albums, you'd be able to formulate an opinion on his music, which you haven't done in any of your posts. I don't give a fukk about critics or rviews, I've listened to enough music in ALL genres to formulate my own perception of an artist. You sound like a fukking clown. Hold this neg

I've listened to all his albums up to the one with Who Says, that was probably 2008-09.

I could formulate an opinion, but I do not discuss music with John Mayer stans that call people "cocsucker" for not agreeing with them and siding with the experts instead. :mjlol:

I gotta be honest, I never really cared for this dude's music. I always thought is shyt was diet blues/rock. I mean he has great technical talent but his music never really moved me.
