In any other country the NCAA is disbanded, Mark Emmert and all those cronies are charged with grand larceny and fraud.

Student athletes :heh:

damn they dont even have to pay them millions either. im sure every student athlete would be happy with a $1500 a month allowance or something. if they had done that since the beginning they wouldnt even have problems. so evil.

Dude is usually on point but was on another level with this rant. The NCAA's so scared that of paying football and basketball players cause they know the other "student-athletes" will be asking next.

indeed..

forcing athletes to be students, is like forcing some frail nerd to participate in football alongside of all his studies. Athletes get accepted to colleges because they are excellent in sports, just like a student excels in academics.

Both tasks require a lot of work. I dont think athletes get too much respect for the amount of work and training it takes to try to be top level, because of the whole dumb jock thing, and nerds being jealous. The free education thing is a nice perk, athletes need to take advantage of that, but you dont have the time for like a stem major, etc.

It's like giving that nerd free access to footballs and baseball batting cages...it's nice yet he'll rarely use it, but in order to continue on with studying, he must spend at least 2 hours in the batting cages and 1 hour running routes in full pads.

School for athletes is just like for students, it's to help them advance to the next level, and paid internships exist. The difference is that 2% going pro stat, most of these athletes are really getting screwed
