There is a difference between being a student athlete and being an amateur and it's about time we started treating it as such. If I am a draw, ill make you more money, so I should be compensated fairly, period. Ditch the amateur and keep the student athlete.
We DO treat it as much.

These dudes aren't professional. They're student athletes at popular programs.

dot-forehead, bytch ass...
I'm not an indian

Clemson, ranked #23 in the country for top dollar earning colleges brought in 39.5 million the year surveyed. From FOOTBALL.
So?

You're telling us a student athlete should have no right to this money they generated? nikka go such a llamas dikk!!!
Thats precisely what I'm telling you.
You're trying to tell me the stars on that team don't deserve more than 500 a month or :scust:semester. You're not a dumb smart nikka...you're a dumb dumb nikka!
They don't deserve a red cent besides the pride of victory and the ability to pursue a shot at being given a shot in the professional leagues of their choice

This policy is the way it is because brehs would be in college sports galore and building money and wealth and them cacs can't have that.
Black men are already running these sports.

Clemson, number 23, brought in 39.5 million dollars in a year. From football alone

No amount of numbers will change my mind.

You're right, this conversation is over. You aren't bright or honest enough to have it.

Oh, and fukk a degree when you have the skill set to earn millions off rip.
You wanna earn millions? Go Pro.

I've explained my rationale at length.

I do not believe you are entitled to compensation because your amatuer sport is popular or that advertisers want to see your school play.

And I'm not a republican so miss me with that.

College is an academic facility with some students who engage in extracurricular activities. If you play a sport and someone else joins a club representing the university you don't get paid just because.

Deal with it.
Thats not a reason that has any rational u just simply don't want it because u think it doesn't fit your narrow definition just like a republican

You're so misguided when it comes to this subject that it's insane. You seriously just compared a student in a brochure to an athlete being on the cover of a video game generating millions in sales.

:kobefacepalm:

yeah, that was easily the dumbest thing i've read in this entire thread.

What do they give to the school?

Do students on debate teams and science fairs and research labs get paid too?

Trying to go pro AINT EASY

Trying to compete against the best students AINT EASY

My nikka said WHAT DO THEY GIVE TO THE SCHOOL?

Lmaoooooo..... let's take Johnny Manziel - between jerseys, his likeness in video games, Johnny Football t-shirts and memorabilia, crowds he attracted to games, and the advertising interest he brought to the school, I can easily estimate he was worth AT LEAST tens of millions of dollars of revenue to Texas A&M.

Now what is someone on the debate team, or science fair bringing to the table financially to even belong in the same conversation as that person?

Why? Because he took a stand against a company and organization making money off him and not getting a dime from it?

:wtf:

Folks is mad that he killed off all those ncaa games and shyt.:francis:

I didn't say I have a problem wasting non-academic resources on student athletes. I should have clarified if I misspoke.

I said these athletes are wasting ACADEMIC resources.

I have no problem paying coaches whatever these institutions think they're worth. If not, they're gonna see their coaching talent get siphoned off. Companies work the same way.

There COULD be a cap, but big salaries are something I think are whats needed if you wanna talk about developing quality teams

OK, since you cleared it up I will too.

So you have no problem with colleges wasting academic resources (money, room, faculty space, etc.) on coaches, but have a large problem using said resources on student athletes?
you realize that the coaches salaries come from the same pot academically, right?:frogbiz:

Just admit your a hypocrite, breh. ADMIT IT.

If you want to treat the student athletes as amateurs, the coaches should be amateurs too and paid (or not) as such :ohhh:

The entitlement.... :wow:

but if you saw someone else making money off you, you would be cool with it right? :francis:

Of course! Especially if I receive zero financial compensation for my efforts, then are punished severely for trying to get money/gifts/help. I love what I do soo much, I do it for free!!
:duck::stopitslime::camby:

nikkas wanna have these adults (they are over the age of 18 ya know) go through a 4 year internship for sports:mjlol:

Then get mad at the product once the talent goes overseas or goes pro after one/two years

@Napoleon u said a whole lot of nothing comparing student athletes to regular students and time management.

the reason these dudes need to get at least an allowance of some sort is because

UNLIKE REGULAR STUDENTS, STUDENT ATHLETES CANT GET JOBS FOR BASIC NEEDS THAT SCHOLARSHIPS DONT COVER.

just because u getting a free education doesnt mean anybody is gonna feed u or clothe u.

jalen rose's example is a good one. my little brother was up in school and my mom had to send him some money every week just so he could eat and buy shyt he needed like toiletries. if she didnt have a good job, she would have been struggling to pay bills while making sure her son was ok.

how the hell was jalen rose supposed to get any type of part time work while having to go to school and study and practice and travel across the country to play ball?

why is it so unfair in your eyes to hook these kids up with just 1500-2000 a month, across all sports, just so they can have their basic needs met? doesnt even have to be the whole school year, just during the seasons of their respective sports. during the offseasons, they on their own to get a part time job.

and my solution still isnt even fair when u got white a$$holes getting rich as fukk off their labors, but its a start.

how can that not be fair?

damn they dont even have to pay them millions either. im sure every student athlete would be happy with a $1500 a month allowance or something. if they had done that since the beginning they wouldnt even have problems. so evil.

THIS!!!!!!! a stipend of sorts would be amazing why cant they do this?!!? :mindblown:
