As an African im so proud for what he did for those Africans kids who he took on.

Great Man, he represented everything that was great about Black DC culture. He made Georgetown not just the University but the area the place to be.

GTown in the 90s was a special to be, felt like a King when you copped some Fits in Georgetown.

Yo back in the days DePaul was nasty too.

They had the fire Starter jacket :damn:

Rod Strickland, Kenny Patterson, Dallas Comegys, Terry Cummings, Mark Aguirre:wow:

father john would destroy them.
that it made me know you had to be like mike regardless of your size.
it was every year damn near and systematic as well.
hot rod Strickland was the first player i ever saw that i felt i could emulate frfr. Yet to know coach Thompson had numerous ways to destroy it made me think on a level.
to be aware of failure and how to not fail if given that opportunity.
then ai came and i learned he knew how to coach a player like me too.
he was my hero,....
I think he was my father's sports hero too.
as my pops was a naia sports photographer.

losing john Thompson closes the book on a rare statuesque brother.
to the type of player i wanted to be.
ever having someone be there that could coach you.

hopefully someone does the knowledge to close the caisson like gap. We now surely face after this cataclysmic loss to black AMERICA.

the master of the post has left us and i am unsure about things moving forward frfr.

:salute:
