As a Generation X Black Man, I was 7 year's old when he led Pat Ewing to the NCAA Championship. The Black Community from the hood to the suburbs came together and rooted for the Hoya's, It was an unapologetic Black Team he had from the 80's to the 90's, I became a Hoyas fan because I seen brother's playing hard against odds

To the young brother's my generation faced racism we were the the Grandchildren of the Civil Rights era and Children of The Black Power Movement and the 80's and early 90's was just as bad

The Impact Coach had on us was positive.

This hurt, Damn you 2020

He was a milder of great men, and took chances on controversial, he had cats thinking Georgetown was a HBCU, and it meant something playing for him, mutombo has a great story on him, and how when coach saw him on campus he was like yeah come on to the team, when he was finally playing he said just block shots and rebound
