- was already on the decline before this major injury

Technically his timeline is 11-15 months according to his doctor. So they're already putting it out there he may miss the next season.

If the Wizards arent competing for a playoff spot next year, why would he come back? There would literally be no reason whatsoever to bring him back. He's more likely to miss the entire next season than him coming back.
