Only way Wall gets points is at the line or in transition.

In the half court, hes not an offensive threat. Thats why hes always looking to set his teammates up. And you need offense to beat this Pacers team. Especially at the PG position considering thats their weakest position. Not to mention in close game situations hes not even looked at.

If Kyrie was on this Wizards team, hes giving Hill 25-30 on a nightly basis in his sleep. And thats facts. Think otherwise...:camby:

If anyone of you nikkas watched Wizards games all season, you would see Wall's jumper has improved to where he is now a streaky shooter.

He just isn't consistent and his confidence has been totally shot with his jumper in the past 3-4 weeks for some reason.

Tonight we clearly saw the moment was too big for him when he had that wide open 3. I don't think I've seen him shy away from the moment like that in his pro career.

And the last game Wall played vs. Kyrie, he locked that chucking midget up :pacspit:

If he's struggling in Game 5, Andre Miller should close it out.... if you want a Game 6, that is.

if you're the wizards, you don't give Wall a max fukkin contract then sub him out to let a 35 year old passed around PG finish up what Wall never started in the first place

in the half court, John Wall is the NBA equivalent of Trent Dilfer. :stopitslime:

If your PG can't run an offense, it don't matter how many points he scores. "He's doing a great job of not turning the ball over" because he's passing up what should be open musttake shots and giving it to Al Harrington in the clutch. TWICE. That's the mark of a legit idiot PG. Doesn't understand the situation or doesn't care. And if anyone of you nikkas watched Wizards games all season you'd see that Wall would routinely pass to the whoever had their hands up instead of creating anything that didn't involve flinging himself straight at the rim.

:wtf: are you talking about

Aside from Game 3 and 4 in this series, Wall wasn't even averaging 2 turnovers a game. His assist numbers were high and he was running the team smoothly against the top 2 defenses in the entire NBA plus for the games at the end of the regular season.

His floor game is fine.

There's two problems. Yes, his jumper is still not consistent and he has no confidence in taking one right now. That's problem #1.

Problem #2 is look at his Head Coach. There's no offensive system that maximizes action towards the basket in the half court. This is Flip Saunders stupid jumpshot oriented system that he used for years in Minnesota, Detroit, and here in DC. And you saw where that got him even with Kevin Garnett in his prime.

Wall needs to work on his offball movement this offseason. That 38 year old PG backing him up moves without the ball and cuts, can still postup, rebound, and run the squad efficiently. He just needs to incorporate that stuff into his game. I wish the Wiz had a real NBA Coach here. It would change the complexion of Wall's career.

@bolded This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. People looking at the stat sheet for wasted possessions when instead they ain't looking at the game and seeing how this dude truly throws away possessions time and time again. Whether a stupid pass to someone who ain't ready, a pass to someone who shouldn't even be getting the ball, pretending he shouldn't have the ball when its convenient, or throwing up a bad shot/forcing a teammate into throwing up a bad shot - none of those things are actually turnovers in the stat sheet. Every time this man throws up garbage and has his team running back on defense is a turnover. Not just when he throws it straight to a defender as measured by the stat boys.

Also, there's a difference between inconsistent and straight up bad. Wall is a bad shooter and always has been. The biggest differences and changes to Wall's game have been his surroundings - not the work he's put in. He's got Beal instead of Jordan Crawford. Gortat instead of Okafor. A rejuvenated Ariza over Singleton. Nene is actually playing. You can't say that he's improved more than just about any other notable up & coming PG in the game but you can without a doubt say that he's been one of the most supported by his FO.

And it doesn't matter what the hell a coach draws up if his PG can't run it. Wall is worthless in the half court. Even off-ball.

The Wizards are literally looking worse than a sub .500 team right now

I agree with his bad shot selection. It is like a turnover. But his floor game is a lot better than it used to be. I mean, he's not even going crazy with his speed anymore and knows when to change it up.

My issue is in this series, he should be forcing the issue and attacking the paint. He backed away twice tonight when he had a lane to the hoop :wtf:

Yeah, the supporting cast is better or perhaps he's making his teammates better? Ariza wasn't shooting well when Wall was injured last year, neither was Beal.

Irving also dropped 41 on his head and held Wall to 9 points - I can play this game too. :sas1:

Bring up a game from the beginning of the season breh and I bring up the latest one :sas2: It's all about what have you done for me lately :sas1:

Didn't he shoot in the mid 30% from 3 this season?
This is true, but he's still not as confident in his shot as he should be. And he still needs to improve it even more so...

Wall's jumper is better this year, it's just tough to become a better shooter in general. If you aren't a NATURAL shooter, it's harder to make the ones that you didn't specifically put work into while practicing, it comes with time. He'll get it, kind of like Kidd/Billups later in their careers.
