Ive watched them every game this season. The Wizards shoulda been the 3rd seed in the East. Thats how talented they are, yet Wittman had them almost be a 7th seed. His offense is basically give John the ball and find an open guy in the corner. Oh, and long 2pointers are good as long the guy is open. Its a terrible offense.

I'll revisit this thread if OKC gets knocked out before the Wiz do.... Brooks is making a case for being a terrible coach. All that talent and he is struggling.

Maybe dude is Mike Singletary from a basketball standpoint (great motivator but not a great x's and o's, which i would still disagree with), but being a part of changing the culture of the team is no small thing. Obviously Wall is balling out was well but the ancillary pieces are playing well together when they really shouldn't on paper and coach deserves credit for that, and if they get past the Bulls (which is a possibility at this rate) they could be a major issue moving forward. No NBA coach is perfect, but he's seems a good fit, for the team which is good, right now. Unless you want to let the shadow of Javelle MgGee and Gilbert Arenas to haunt you cats forever. Dudes contract is up this year, so you might get a new coach just enjoy the ride for now.

Randy Wittman is not a good Xs and Os guy. He preaches taking the "open shot, cause it's a good shot" with confidence. Like Beal's attempt at a game winner last night... horrible shot selection with plenty of time. Stuff like that may not cost you but if young guys get into that habit, its bad down the line.

The Bulls defense may be a blessing because it is forcing Wall to make better decisions and alter how he passes the ball and the types of shots the Wizards are getting. The ball movement last night was really good and guys gave up those open shots for GREAT shots. A couple of Beal's 3s are just examples of that.

This offensive system is horrible when Wall is asked to bring it up, they run a pick and roll and the big man spots up for a 17 footer or if Wall picks up his dribble to pass into the corner for a 3.

It's very predictable.

I will give credit to Wittman for making the Wizards into a top 10 defensive team. Last year and this year, they are up there in defensive rating and the amount of points given up per game. I've never seen a Wizards team be this good defensively in my entire life.

this is exactly what he is. Anyone who has watched the Wizards regularly would say this.

Maybe so but it's a results oriented game, and he's getting results out of his team, maybe he's a placeholder for a better coach down the line, or not, but I think he has done a good job of getting the team to commit defensively (which is big) and he's got strange pieces playing together pretty well. I'm saying he is COTY but he deserves firm handshake and maybe another year, to see if he's for real.

Wall was NEVER thought of as a SG... He's a 100% pure PG who looks to pass first and be a floor general. Did you guys even watch him the last few years or read his scouting report coming out of Kentucky?

So tell us what the scouting report was on Victor Oladipo coming out of college

yeah, I'd like to see more out of Wall defensively, it seemed like a conscious coaching decision for him to not go hard on the defensive end, and that's something I admire about westbrook, he ALWAYS brings insane energy on both ends of the court.

If you paid attention this year, you would know the Wizards lost winnable games at home to teams that are currently not in the postseason

This same Bulls team drilled them by 18 two weeks at the phone booth

This isn't over, the Wizards need to prove they can close a series. They have vets who have been there before but I have to see it done this weekend.
