That's a good look. I can see him providing some good insight he doesn't seem like someone tryna be a hot take fakkit.
John loves basketball. Chris Miller who does the Wizards play-by-play for Monumental Sports did a feature on him back like 2014-15. And John’s house was just plugged into NBA all day everyday. He is a junkie.

I'd give it more to PJ Tucker. He be everywhere here in the offseason.
PJ is too but Wall off the strength of having a more challenging upbringing than PJ, being the #1 high school player in the country, then the #1 overall draft pick to the NBA, then being a consistently high level NBA player, his name has more esteem.

PJ definitely well appreciated and loved out here too! But Wall has more of the, defying the odds, rags to riches story.

John possibly was a better player both at their best but the difference is more than just the title. Billups consistently led teams to the conference finals. Wall never did anything like that even one time.
You said lead as if the teams were equal

Unfortunately his career was pretty forgettable if you weren't a Wizards fan. I would not have guessed Wall made 5 ASG. When I think of John Wall I think of HS/college hype, end to end speed, and the dougie. Like I literally can't think of a meaningful clutch moment or signature game off the top of my head

His career was over after he ruptured his achilles in the shower. He could have had another 3-4 seasons of productive play if it weren't for that.

Raleigh legend. He's essentially to Raleigh, what Iverson is to the Seven Cities; obviously he isn't anywhere near Iverson's stature in The League or Basketball Culture overall.....but here in Raleigh, he's iconic and a legend.

People watched him grow up with a pretty tough background, work his way thru that background to become the #1 recruit in the nation in his class. Have a successful (albeit brief) college career, go to the NBA and fight thru injuries and organizational dysfunction to become one of the better players in the game (in the mid-2010s he was a Top 15 player for a few years stretch)...

And thru all of that, he stayed committed to and giving back to Raleigh. Had plenty of off court issues just like Iverson too, we know part of what derailed his career, is he was just as concerned with his off court activities, as he was on court.

But people here saw him grow from a boy to a man, know his journey and his story. He was a fun player to watch at his peak...

@getmoney310cpt I can't recall but didn't you either play with, or against Wall on one of the NC AAU squads?

You just got out the joint? 🤣 where you been fam?

I mean he had a similar play style as Westbrook and Westbrook played 17 years. It ain't his play style that gave him the short shelf life...

Yeah Wall was always better than Beal.
Yeah and cant wait until he come to LA so I can cut his ass about being retired :pachaha:

He did what a number 1 pick supposed to do for the most part, lead his team and be a multiple year all star..

Every body can’t be an all time great like Kobe and Bron Mj…John in that Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill tier, injuries stopped the momentum of the ride..

People like to rate John worse than what he was because of the blood shyt and always being in the club but his whole NBA career he never had a scandal or run in with the law despite being “Outside” but no one points that out just act like he was wilding out when he wasn’t just more seen
