:what: Texas A&M is not under investigation. Texas A&M has nothing to do with this.

The value of Manziel is clear in the memorabilia and appearance market: Independent merchandiser Aggieland Outfitters recently auctioned off six helmets signed by Manziel and Texas A&M's other Heisman Trophy winner John David Crow for $81,000. Texas A&M's booster organization, the 12th Man Foundation, sold a table for six, where Manziel and Crow will sit at the team's Kickoff Dinner later this month, for $20,000.

The school has committed to renovating Kyle Field, which will push seating capacity to 102,500 by the time it is completed in 2015. Texas A&M officials have said that donors, who make annual contributions of $80,000 to $100,000, have purchased all but two of the 144 suites in the stadium.

Obviously the school is filthy and complicit...one might say, they have a failure to monitor their players' activities :shaq:

The schools doesn't know everything the independent boosters are doing.

This is not like the SMU case, where the school itself was cutting checks to the football players.

Another silver spoon kid who can't get enough. I knew this from the S.I. article that came out last week when it said his parents accepted a truckload of items for him to sign in the garage. Dude spent hours on weekends to sign everything.

Good thing he didn't get some free Tattoo's he would have to give back that Heisman and forfeit last season and lose a National Championship bid this year.

Just 2 weeks ago A&M basically "sold" Manziel at a dinner for $20,000 to sit next to whoever the highest bidder was. You can't tell me that's not exactly something the school wasn't in on, and that's further proof of how much these schools make off these players

Texas A&M is a lot more talented than Auburn tho. They had an elite OL. Auburn had Killa Cam. Killa was an one man show.

Auburn had arguably the best defensive linemen in Nick Fairley as well as Micheal Dyer as a freshmen before he became a fukk up.

I will agree that Cam was a once in a generation college football player though.

Two things from that article have me puzzled. One, they say he met the guy in an airport. Two, it said he signed all those items "despite the fact that there were many people in the room".

I live in Bryan, the twin city to College Station. There's been no way to avoid reading or hearing about TAMU & Manziel all spring. I remember that the reason the school got him a counselor back in Feb. was because of the pressure he gets from autograph hounds. I distinctly remember him saying that the last straw was some guy who approached him in an airport wearing military gear. He said he signed a whole bunch of stuff for the guy because he was told everything would be sent to troops overseas. When Manziel and his parents saw those same items on E-bay later, he was pissed. That's when he asked Sumlin for help and a counselor came in. That was back in Feb.

If the guy in this article is the same as the one with the fake military story, why would Manziel even bring up that incident way back then, if he had something to hide? Also, if you think you're doing something wrong, why do it in a crowded room with no attempt to hide what you're doing? The investigation started in June. He mentions the airport incident in numerous interviews all spring. Why bring it up at all? That part just doesn't add up to me.
