Of course the ATL
what do you mean by "ALOT"

Those scholarships don't cost the Uni anything.

Free food,
Free weight training,
Free medical,
Free housing,
Free travel,
free tutors,
coaching,
free books
Free tuition

These things aren't free breh, but the university makes it free for 60-90 "student athletes" a year. These costs go up every yr breh

And for most schools, athletic revenue doesn't come close to covering these expenses, requiring universities to dip into general funds to keep their sports programs humming.

so some schools dipping into the general fund for regular students to pay for the athletic expenses, but u want them to magically have this money to pay athletes?

i know the 'that is a joke' thing about college football players' education but i PERSONALLY KNOW MULTIPLE players who went to michigan that have used their degrees they got through scholarship to have solid careers they wouldn'tve had (or at least the same opportunities) that athletics provided them. One went to the NFL, career was short (3 seasons or so), and his DEGREE has proven more VALUABLE than even his nfl contract. The other BROKE HIS NECK and michigan honored his scholarship, he is doing as good as any other michigan grad can be now.

I really think you all are undervauing a scholarship to some of these major universities. I'M NOT SAYING ITS EQUAL, but there IS value to the opportunity it provides.

none of this matters because manziel knew the rule, broke the rule, and should be ruled ineligible.

ALL of this is moot because

The end
I agree.

I know that a lot of people have a gripe with the NCAA, and it's well-deserved.

However, Manziel isn't above the rules or the law. If he breaks the rules, he faces the punishment. It sucks, and it's a stupid rule, but it's a rule.

If anyone else did this it would be a problem too.

Part of me thinks that Johnny Manziel wanted to get caught up in something like this. He wants to be a rock star. He strives for that edgy, "fukk you" persona. He wants to challenge the mold and piss people off. He likes to talk shyt, he loves to back it up (he has thus far).

That kind of thing catches up to you. Especially on one of the biggest sporting stages (definitely the biggest sporting stage in Texas/the South). He's got people after him that he's never even met in his life. That he's never even heard of. People that have never said a word about him publicly or tried to flood his timeline. Everywhere he goes, there are 500 pairs of eyes watching and waiting.

I've interned at places and never got paid, i'm sure others have too. guess i'm a modern day slave :leon:
GIVE US FREE!!! :blessed:

Thats just as bad.

Companies using free labor instead of hiring employees or paying interns.

They are not going to get educated and the school or team is not concerned about them being educated.

When has paying someone is something other than money ever been ok?
