No matter how much of a spoiled brat the kid is , and I grew up around a lot of Cacs that thought they were "entitled" like him; his father can't air him out like that without looking himself in the mirror first. :mindblown: at his fukking parents. That's like turning your kid to the cops for a crime they didn't commit. Despicable
When your own parents call you out. You know you have a problem
Andy Staples had a similar visit with Manziel and his mother about that same time and there's a piece in SI this week. From reading that, I'd say the parents seem more like a problem for him than much of anything else, especially his dad. Here's some details.

He met a few times with a counselor after he was being swamped for autographs and turns out, his parents were part of the problem. They agreed to limit autographs for parents, friends, etc., to 1 hr a week, except he would sign for all kids who asked. His parents had a whole garage full of junk for him to sign and he was frustrated with them for promising all that without consulting him. Seems to me like they, of all people, should know to nip that crap in the bud.

Also, one of the A&M players had a ping pong table and pool table covered with stuff for him to sign. In an airport a man in army gear came up with a stack of helmet stickers and told Manziel he wanted to send them to soldiers overseas, He signed a couple hundred of them, then the guy put them on helmets and sold them on ebay. Burned.

He said the only place he can go and walk around and be normal is in Vegas. Went twice and didn't have to take one pic or sign anything. (You know that's gone now, though. :snoop: Shoulda kept quiet on that one.

Also interesting, he made it seem like he's not as sure as his parents that he'll be leaving for NFL next season.
He's studied NFL rookie contracts and knows he'll have to be smart about when he decides to leave. Said it depended on his growth as a passer, etc. He at least seems to be getting good advice from someone on that.

Had good things to say about Sumlin, especially his recruiting. He thinks 2014 could be a really good year with that crew, if he decided to stay.

Interesting contrast to the espn article, though.

I'm a big Sumlin supporter, and I don't think it's his job to raise these guys. Their contact is limited in the off season, anyway. Sounds like Johnny Football has some working out to do between him and his dad.

Apparently the entire article shows how Manzeil is completely disrespectful to his parents and says all types of wild stuff to them.

So to me, there's the problem right there. He has no disciplinary background. If you talk sh*t to ur parents, then who are you gonna obey? :heh:

Johnny Manziel is a 20 year old college kid at a large college. What 20 year old kid at a large college doesn't enjoy drinking?

Really,

With the chiefs player that committed suicide last year, and the aaron hernandez shyt.... It was NOT A GOOD LOOK for him to have his dad say this.....

In fact, not a good look could be an understatement.... His dad comments might have just took him from the #1 or 2 overall pick (potentially), to maybe the 2nd round....

Dude might end up killing himself or somebody else, and his dad just tossed it out there like it's nothing.

Any team that would pick that vanilla midget in first 2-3 rounds needs to be contracted.

hahaha... Gonna be the first to admit, all I do is go by what I see on ESPN, I don't follow this kid or college football for that matter...

I do know he's the first heisman trophy freshman in history, I do know he can supposedly run and pass the ball well, I do know he will fill up seats better than anyone this side of Tim Tebow, I did hear one respected college coach say he's the hardest college player (or maybe any football player?) to game plan against....

So if all of that don't make you the #1 overall pick (if he didn't have the character issues), please explain to me what the f*ck would.

And I don't give a shyt either way... I'm just talking about what he brings to the table outside of the character issues.

And he's a good dad for it.

Look at the Newton family now. :wow: :salute:

Selling your son to the highest bidder is a good thing for a Dad to do? :what:

I guess scumbag is a hereditary trait that passes from parent to child

Came across the new issue of SI (with A-Rod on the cover) and just read the story Andy Staples wrote on him. I have gained some sympathy for him, but not much. Johnny's parents are scum though having a garage full of memorbilia for their son to sign, which he has spent hours doing so :wow:

The social media bubble though :heh: (as he compares himself to some of Drizzy's lyrics i.e. "unforgettable") is just b.s. He has no one to blame there but himself with the Summer he's been having.

I think that this is just 1 big PR move by Johnny Football's dad. I think Johnny's dad is attempting to garner some sympathy from the public/media and take some heat off of his son. Pops is trying to put in excuses and give his son an "out" from all of this madness.

Think about it y'all, what father would throw his son under the bus like this? This was calculated and planned by people behind the scenes. Advisors/PR people are preppin Johnny and his family.

If Johnny fails next year or gets in more trouble, his pops has created this sympathy story/possible alcohol problem and has multiple built in excuses ready. So when or if shyt come crashin down, they can say:

The pressure is too much
-He's only 20
-He's dependant on alcohol to combat stress etc

Peep the game behind this shyt brehs. Its deeper than what u may think
