anyone that’s filled out a fafsa knows what’s up, and what they consider when it comes to giving out aid. It’s need based. It’s not rocket science, make a case as for why u NEED that lovely lovely aid and you’ll get it

:ahh:
Bruh, I used FASFA AND military benefits. Probably took home double what you were. There are pro's and cons to everything you do.

Why would a black man join the military right now? I don't give a fukk about the benefits. Have some respect for yourself and get your paper another way. :francis:
So why should we limit ourselves to less options than the opps?
Why shouldn't we take advantage of all of the resources available to get ahead in this world and build a solid foundation for our families?

That is what i did in the Air Force. It's called Material Management though.

The good thing about going down the logistics path is that you can flip it into alot of career fields, even if you didn't work it specifically. If your mouthpiece is right and you have good resume skills you can flip your military job into alot of stuff. A breh working a standard storage and issue job can flip it into all this stuff.

Just from a Logistics Career Field:
Storage
Order Processing
Supply Chain
Purchasing
Shipping
Receiving

Computer Ops
Transportation
Logistics Planning
Customer Service

Just from Military experience:
Instructor
Safety
Supervisor
Security

I'm sure i am missing alot of other things as well
You're missing financial. Currently, I'm a purchasing agent who also deals with the bold on a daily basis. There's also a such thing as a financial LS who pretty much do accounting.
What branch?

How do coli brehs feel about joining the military fresh out of high school? Do you think it would be a dumb idea?

Thanks for the thoughts in advance,

Like other I imagine have said, the military is what you make it. If you make sure you can get into a MOS that has transferable skills to the non-military world then you're super straight, especially with a security clearance. Make sure that ASVAB score is high

Everyone in my family is against it, but I feel it would be my best option. They are telling me "everyone else is taking out student loans, its not the worst thing in the world!"
:scusthov: awful advice

i can see why your family doesn't want you to join the military, but jesus christ

My homie is in the military. When he got in, he knew he wanted to take advantage of every benefit the military has to offer. It changed his life. If you want to join the military but didn't get into a military school, you got to be smart with your decisions once you get in.
i would NEVER fight for this country, but it's undeniable that if you do the military right it's a dope fukkin move. doing it right is the hard part, probably takes some luck too with this orange shythead in office. but it can definitely be done

Man the military is a cesspool that promotes drug use, alcoholism, and bad decisions. Financially is worth it if you play it right but the social effects are real. Also please don’t marry anybody for extra benefits or get a wife or kid while you out there. Also get a counselor or some type of person you can talk to because they basically brainwash you.

Just have a plan breh. @Colgatebrah

Like a solid AF plan. The military will not hesitate to fukk you at the drop of a hat, so you need to be getting the max benefits.

Do not join just to have a job or get school paid for.

Down the line you will hate yourself if you pick a bullshyt job just to be picking a job.

Whatever job you picks needs to have high civilian applicability and a nice trajectory to commissioned officer or warrant officer should you go that route.

Do NOT LET A RECRUITER HUSTLE YOU.

DO NOT TAKE THE FIRST JOB WITH A ENLISTMENT BONUS. THERES A REASON IT HAS A BONUS TO LURE PEOPLE IN.

As far as the Air force goes, If you join and arent in Intelligence or IT support/cyber ops, youre an idiot.

Or if you're just about the travel and experience, go for load master.

Edit: if I could do it all again? Stay in college and do ROTC.
