Funny thing is Lester will probably resign with sox in offseason

Considering they added mlb quality players and not prospects has me convinced there's a wink wink deal with Lester where he will take one for the team, get them an offensive threat and resign with the team in the offseason

Realistically we will need to get two really good starting pitchers this offseason for us to compete next year

Wish we woulda moved buchholz tho

They should be trying hard to get two of Scherzer, Lester, shields, Santana and possibly masterson if he gets his shyt together

I disagree...I got an outfielders arm as no less than the 3rd most important thing on a baseball team (pitching 1st and hitting maybe 2nd, depending on how good your pitching is)

Anybody that watches A's game should be able to clearly see that Cespedes outright saves the A's runs because runners are hesitant to run on him...they usually don't if he is not throwing from the warning track...and yeah...he already threw out a guy at home this year damn near from the warning track...

Also, Lester is a great pitcher but I think the A's already had a great pitching staff without him...is going from maybe the 3rd best pitching staff to the outright best pitching staff worth an outfielder who hits for power and keeps base runners jittery?

Range is much much more important than arm
