I'll bite, brother.

Most this mass shooters were already under the watchful eye of the law.

What would a registry or background check have stopped?

A year before the Uvalde school massacre, the gunman had already earned the nickname “school shooter” — a running joke among those he played online games with. He had also started wearing all black and making over-the-top threats, especially toward women, who he terrorized with graphic descriptions of violence and rape.

Those details are part of an interim report by the House committee investigating the incident, which points to a trail of missed signs leading to one of the worst mass shootings in Texas — one that was months in the making.

No one’s saying stricter gun regs will stop crime. Would 100% decrease it though. What’s exactly the problem?

My question is; how?

Because people's biggest issue is criminalizing and putting further restrictions on law abiding citizens.

A WWE wrestler just got arrested for mishandling her gun, but, she'd just experience a home invasion and justifiably was carrying.

It was registered in one state but not in another and that was enough for her to be incarcerated.

My problem is; people act like this is the Wild West when they're plenty of restrictions, laws and regulations on guns.

Yeah, but there aren't tho.

You're not even willing to offer a solution. You're just against things....like almost all gun nuts and conservatives.

It actually isn't a question. it is a 100% proven fact that gun de-regulation has further increased gun crime.
You are supporting a measure that will increase gun crime and asking us why we are against it and saying there will still be gun crime anyway as your reasoning for being for it.

We really acting like requiring stricter background checks and longer wait periods and basic stuff like that wouldn’t curb gun violence? Try to shoehorn in a 3rd anecdote in your next response

red flag laws are unconstitutional and are beginning to be struck down across the country:
with no due process and nothing more than suspicion from the police, you're subject to a warrantless search and seizure. you're never allowed to face your accuser in court or present a defense, in fact the court hearings are often held without you even being notified of them. someone explain how having your house torn apart without a warrant and having your shyt stolen while never being arrested, nor knowing the charges against you until you've already been judged, nor ever setting foot in court doesn't violate the fifth amendment.

and i see not 15 seconds in stewart's repeating the "well regulated" lie too :mjlol:

Makes great point, and just like John said, i'm not against guns either.
But why can't we regulate them the same way we do a drivers license at the very least?
Drivers have to take tests to get licensed, they have to have insurance, they have to register their vehicles, and they have to renew each of these at least once a year.
if you have a history of drunken driving or reckless driving you aren't allow to get a license.
This is all false.
  • I renew my drivers license basically online once every 5-10 years
  • Youte now asking gun owners to eat a new tax for ownership. GL with that
  • Your license only gets temporarily revoked for DUIs and only in a limited way
  • What does a gun owner need new insurance for? The VAST majority of gun owners will never have a shooting incident. Just about every driver has been in an accident or needs to make a claim
  • I took one drivers test when I was a kid and never needed to retest again.
This is basically why gun owners shyt on any kind of new regulations. People who want to promote new gun laws misrepresent what they’re trying to do. Any new gun regulations for firearms would be onerous

I bought my first gun about a month ago. It took about nine months, because the FBI slow rolls security checks. it will be way worse the moment any new gun regulation takes affect.

First time I've seen him lose his calm like that during an interview, he really was mad at the other guy who just took it

the main area of deregulation over the past couple decades has been regarding ccw licensing schemes, here's an animation of deregulation and gun crime over the years pretty much every state went shall-issue. edit: oh yeah, the federal assault weapons ban sunsetted in '04 too, forgot about that...

You are debating the part where at i said all of these things are renewed "at least" once a year.
That was just generalization to encompass drivers licenses, tags, insurances etc. Not a specific argument that you have to get a new drivers license every year,
whenever you guys start singling out parts of sentences and debating that instead of the entire arguments as presented i already you are arguing in bad faith.
try again
