The difference with secular events would be they don't claim to be divinely inspired and practitioners don't claim to be in direct contact with a higher power. Your analogies don't really correlate honestly. And the bold especially don't make sense when you're suppose to be on one accord and one body as well as not lean on your own understanding of scriptures.
The word itself is divinely inspired, but people still have to read that word and it doesn't mean the conclusions and interpretations people arrive to when they read it are divinely inspired. Just because we are not supposed to lean on our own understanding doesn't mean people still dont do exactly that, bare in mind we are not suppose to sin and every christian alive sins.
