Mike grew up middle class.
He worked hard like most people do but he achieved more than 99.9% of the world just by grinding and being blessed by God plus pure luck. Remember that none of the men in MJ's fam were taller than 5'10". MJ was 5'9" in high school as a freshman but then prayed constantly everyday and somehow hit 6'6."
Check out YouTube and find the old video of MJ and his brother (Larry???). Brother looks JUST LIKE Mike except he's like 5'9" or some shyt. Got the same athletic ability and could dunk easily too but just ended up being a regular sized breh.

Mike got lucky with his height, but I guarantee you his work ethic would have ensured success in another field if he had been born average height. Billionaire level success? Probably not. But he damn sure wouldn’t have been homeless.
