Worthy may well be better than Pierce, and just because those legends are better than him, he's "nothing special" :what:

He was not better than Pierce.

Sometimes I wish the big 3/Pierce & KG era never happened so Pierce could have continued to tear up the league. It's like dudes never saw Pierce play before 08. :snoop:

First of all neither of us saw James Worthy play so we can't definitively say he was better or worse than Pierce. Secondly It's MJ... and it's a team where he thinks he would do best... It's not necessarily the best player in each slot but the player he felt that he would be unbeatable with.

I seen James Worthy play.....and Paul Pierce was better than him:manny:

I didn't watch him play live, but I watched a lot of playoff games from the 80's. All those games are on youtube. I think people tend to overrate players from that era. They aren't as fast, quick or athletic and they don't have the moves that the players of today have. I think James Worthy would be a good player in today's league, but not one of the best. Watching old tapes of him he didn't impress me at all.

A player like Garnett would help Jordan out a lot more than a James worthy.

jordan and worthy played togethor in college, they're tight so i see why MJ would pick him. Worthy always had magic, and never had a chance to have his own team, and when he did he was broken down and injured. Pierce is a better individual player but worthy fits better with a team because of his specific skillset and talents.

Michael Jordan named his unbeatable pickup team and revealed one of his favorite dunks in a promotional video he did for a video game.

The former Chicago Bulls star chose teammate Scottie Pippen, Los Angeles Lakers James Worthy and Magic Johnson and Houston Rockets centerHakeem Olajuwon as his teammates in a pickup game.

"I got no chance of losing. None at all," he said in the video released by 2KSports to promote NBA 2K14.

Of the many poster-worthy dunks in his career, Jordan singled out his slam on Patrick Ewing in the 1991 playoffs as one of his favorites. Jordan did a quick spin away from Charles Oakley on the baseline, soared to the hoop and put down a one-hand slam in the face of Ewing's challenge.

Jordan said he thinks about that one "very, very often."

"I told him, Georgetown guys don't block shots, they take charges," Jordan said on the video. "I dunked it on him so hard it was unbelievable. Every time I see him, that's the first thing I remind him of."

Jordan also mentioned his 1997 dunk on Dikembe Mutombo that ended with MJ waving his finger just as the Atlanta Hawks center used to do after blocks.

Jordan said that the 1995-96 season was his best. He played in only 17 games the previous season after returning from a failed stint in minor league baseball, and some questioned whether he'd be the same player. But Jordan averaged a league-high 30.4 points and led the Bulls to an NBA record 72-10 regular season and his fourth of six championships.
