Is there a poster on thecoli with worse basketball opinons than @Swagnificent? Cause I can't think of one.

please tell me about these bad opinions?

My top 5 players are:

1. Kobe
2. Shaq
3. Duncan
4. LeBron
5. Garnett

FYI: for all you bytch nikkas I refuse to rank players I never saw play and since my basketball watching started in 97 its limited to dudes who've played most of their careers (or at least their primes) after 97. I actually only limit my opinions to what I know. Unlike you clowns that think you know why Wilt Chamberlain was better than x or y player.

The best team I've ever seen is the 2001 Lakers. I don't consider Duncan the best PF ever cause he's been playing Center since Robinson left. Prime McGrady was better than almost every player I've ever seen play since 97.

:wait: :what:  :rudy:

If you want to be fair you should look at the kobe/duncan matchup when they were both the best player on their teams hands down.

You can't find this playoff series. Was duncan the best in 08 after parker won finals mvp?

:what: of course he was.......08 was Kobe vs. Duncan for the only time ever and Kobe won (rather easily)

unless you wanna say Duncan only really has 3 rings cause that 4th one came as a sidekick :yeshrug:

Some things you said in the past 2 days

- Melo is a top 3 player
- Kobe was an elite player in 98
- McGrady was better than Duncan, Garnett and Lebron
- 06 Kobe is better than 92 Jordan

Most of your opinions on basketball are just fukking terrible.

First of all neither of us saw James Worthy play so we can't definitively say he was better or worse than Pierce. Secondly It's MJ... and it's a team where he thinks he would do best... It's not necessarily the best player in each slot but the player he felt that he would be unbeatable with.

I saw him play and I can say he was better than pierce...he was a better rebounder, defender, better mid - post game...pierce has more range and better handles...they passing is bout even....if I had to pick one to start on my team, it's worthy....the cat was a baller...it's a reason he's one of the 50 best....I know people like to think latest means greatest, but that aint always true...

:comeon: I don't think you want to bring up the matchups with the Lakers if your trying to defend Duncan. Kobe in particular has owned Duncan in their head to heads. In 08, he sent Duncan packing in 5 games with an inferior supporting cast (Gasol, Odom, and then no one......remember Bynum was out).

99 was a strike shortened year and Kobe wasn't Kobe yet, so it doesn't count. Only year Duncan legitimately beat Kobe/Shaq was 03 and that was after Kobe and Shaq already won 3 titles. They were going for 4 straight which had never happened since the 60s Celtics. Their 3rd best player was Derek Fisher. They were due for a fall-off. And even with all that they still were a wide open Robert Horry 3 in game 5 from beating Duncan again.

I'm just giving you my opinion. You can disagree with it but you ain't changing it. I think Duncan is definitely better than KG (though not by much). Didn't see enough of Malone and Barkley to know if they were definitively better. I just think peak McGrady was better.

Way to ignore the point about great orgs, coaches, and teammates. Couldn't really rebutt that huh? :russ:

I love how all the pleas come out for the Lakers L's but when it comes to Duncan he just got owned :rudy:. This nikka Duncan was going against the 2 of the top 3 players of his generation without one teammate that came close to being in that convo (at the time) and he came out on top twice. This nikka regularly matched and outplayed Shaq but I guess we should ignore that because Derek "The Answer for Kobe" :laff: Anderson and "young inconsistent to the point he gets benched in the Finals" TP couldn't keep up with Kobe.

If Kobe owns Duncan then I guess Nash and Dirk own Kobe huh? :stopitslime:

If you're not gonna use stats then what are you basing your argument on

The fukk.

I watched the games :bryan:

So did I. And I couldn't differentiate between 91 92 and 93 Jordan. If anything the eye test would support 91 because he was the most athletic that year.

can make the face all you want, wont change what it is...worthy was a baller and better than pierce...hell, till the big 3 formed in bos, pierce wasn't even looked at as being that good...

Because dudes weren't watching Pierce, but Pierce was a fukking monster. He wasn't on Kobe and McGrady's level, but he was right in the second tier.

Worthy had a better post game, but Pierce was still the better overall scorer. Worthy wasn't a better rebounder either. Pierce rebounding numbers are actually better. Pierce was the only perimeter player before 05 that Kobe had problems with on both offense and defense.

Yeah, I had to throw this dude on ignore.

You're an idiot if you think being one of the 50 greatest players means anything. That list was made way too early. So James Worthy is one of the 50est greats but LeBron, Garnett, Duncan aren't?

Dude said Worthy was better mid range :russ:

i'm not the others, I watched pierce...have watched him since that hs all American game (which I think had the best collection of talent ever, but that's another topic).....and like i said: before the big 3 formed, he wasnt looked at as being that good....he was just looked at as a chucker...you even just said so yourself comparing him to kobe/tmac...

anyway, to me worthy was a better player...he wasn't a rebounder? that cat rebounded his ass off...he didn't put up those numbers cause of the teams he was on...those laker teams were stacked with talent...and a lot of those cats rebounded the ball: kareem, cooper, magic, rambis....he was only gonna get so many boards....also, worthy was the better overall scorer...just cause pierce got more shots doesn't mean he was a better scorer....again, those laker teams were loaded, worthy was only gonna get so many shots...

as for who kobe could guard or not: he had more trouble guarding people than just pierce....but that's another topic...

You're obviously a casual nba fan then. Paul Pierce has always been regarded as one of the best wing players in the game. If LeBron didn't exist, Pierce would've went down as the best SF of the 00s. Put that in perspective for a minute, the best SF of his era. He made 5 all star teams before the Big 3 as well.
