Lol @ MJ never having the average low income hip hop generation in his hands. You nikkas can't be serious.

Every young nikka that could afford it back in the 80's-90's wore Chicago Bulls gear and Jordans...had his posters on their walls, even shaved their heads and tried to swag like him on the court... when the fukk were you nikkas born?

Media brainwashing ain't the answer either...nikkas LOVED MJ like he was their father.

I won't speak for myself on that comment..because me and all my lil homeboys where the same way, you think kids just started getting shot for his kicks a couple years ago?

The last sentence is true..you grew up the in 90's so don't play dumb, MJ was worshipped in the late 80's-mid 90's by young ghetto nikkas everywhere, regardless if he claimed us.

people got shot over his kicks because theyre the best and most expensive brand. they didnt get shot in honor of peoples' love for michael jordan. lol. be forreal dog.

yes, i grew up in the '90s. everybody wasnt into michael jordan. the same way everybody now isnt into lebron james. lol. especially by the mid-90s when the new regime started coming thru. penny was the most popular player in the hood in the mid-90s, if you want to be really real. and by the late '90s, there was yet another new regime coming thru. iverson was taking over. marbury, etc. meanwhile, ALOT of us were looking at jordan like he was an uncle tom.

When I think about it. The guys who had cultural impacts, were guys who were just diffent, they stood out, and were great players.
From Walt Clyde Frazier, To Julius Irving to Bird, Magic, Zeke to Jordan to Penny to Iverson.
I think Russell Westbrook got next...
