One of them is 22 and just came off a win where he made a few plays.

If Manziel is terrible...oh well you get the #1 pick. If he's good, hey you might have a future QB.

McCown is going to get you, 3 or 4 more wins maybe? The downside to Manziel is he maybe only gets you 1 or 2. Are those few games that big of a deal?

The only reason to sit him is because you value his future and are worried his confidence could take a major hit playing with no good supporting cast.

If Mccown flops horribly and playoffs aren't a possibility, then you can give Manziel an extended look

Look, as a fan you might think they have no shot at the playoffs, but that's not the attitude of the coaches and players 2 weeks into a 1-1 season

As is stands right now, Mccown probably gives them the best chance to win as many games as possible, I think you agree with that, right?

Pettine's a good coach, he went 7-9 last year with a shyt team. He's got job security. I think this is a tactical win, but strategic loss here. Starting McCown does nothing short or long term for the Browns

Trestman went 8-8 his first year with a god awful defense

Then year two came, everything fell off the rails, he's fired and he just blew his only shot of being a head coach in this league

Same with Luck (well drafted 1st)

Depends. As of right now. Manziel last game was better than anything I saw from McCown last season. Can he maintain that? Idk.

If the hope is that McCown can recreate some of the magic he had in Chicago, go for it

If I spent a 1st round pick on a QB, I'd like to see 16 games of him before I get rid of him (draft another guy next year). Especially if the alternative is Josh McCown. But if they think McCown can truly be good...I guess let him cook.

Last season is over and done with. So far, in terms of being a professional, he's done a complete 180 from last year to this year.

McCown is reckless but his lone long ass drive against the Jets defense sans the fumble/concussion was impressive.

The Browns prepared the entire summer to have McCown start the season. I don't get the confusion here.
