He needs to go to a team full of veterans that have a pecking order on offense. At best he is a 3rd option on a good team.

Some people on here act like he can be a 1st or 2nd option on a championship caliber team. You have problems when you have a guy like Smith as your 1st or 2nd option.

Why would I want to sign role players? When has a team of role players won a championship in the league? Role players aren't going to win you anything when your team is lacking a real 1st and 2nd option on offense.

No, acquiring a player now for someone who is going to walk away for free is a smart move. The difference between a solid GM and a very good GM is he will be able to flip that expiring contract for good players.
