The reason why people bring up Michaels matches is because they knew he was never a true top act who could headline or draw money..he got outdrawn by the nwo and Sting at his peak. Shelton should have been champ at least once. All they had to do was give him a manager (not a stupid stereotypical one like Momma Benjamin). They could have given him Heyman and have Heyman do the talking for Shelton.

This is one of the main reasons I have stopped watching the product. The business definitely needs 1 or 2 big companies in the US so it gives wrestlers at least a choice and allows them to make good money besides the WWE.

I don't know if anybody plays TEW (2016 version) but even the fictional default database has black wrestlers holding the world title in the top 2 companies.

The conversation needs to happen. Even WCW, TNA, and ROH had a black man holding their top title. WWE can book any wrestler they want to win the WWE title. Even if the fans boo and don't like the wrestler. They just choose not to book a black man for it.

If he debuted in 2014 then I’m sure he’d be on the same level as guys like Seth and Finn but he was far too bland to put a title on him back then. Wasn’t a monster like Brock, didn’t have the “look” like Orton, or natural charisma like Jeff/RVD...he pretty much reached his ceiling given the times

Because they are overrated, overpraised, and aren't what their booking makes them out to be historically.

Shawn Michaels is really a joke...he bombed. Dudes in here take shots at the Miz all the time over that first title run. But no one ever and to this day still don't ever bring up the horrid boyhood dream run in 96. How can you? It sucked and exposed him as not a true superstar.

Cripple H is just as bad. There are so many examples I've lost count. He dropped the ball in 99...nobody would of cared about him in 2000 if he weren't the Rock's opponent because Cripple H got SILENCE at WM 2000 and he was very unover until the Backlash 2000 build....horrible runs in 2002-2005. Terrible stuff. Katie Vick, the Eugene feud, the odd burials of Jericho/RVD/Booker T/Kane..the ineffective promos that worked in the 2000 format when his initial push was going but didn't age well. Without that marriage, he would be a footnote in history.
